We are staying at the Dolphin (standard view) in Oct. What should we request? Have all the rooms been renovated? I would love a good view, but it's not a priority. I'd rather have a renovated room. Should I just request that (and NS) and hope for the best? Any info would be appreciated!!

Thanks. I can't wait!!

It can't hurt to put in a request. Not all rooms have been renovated so if that's what you wish, e mail the S/D using their website - www.swandolphin.com. Click on reservations then on to special requests. Don't forget to ask again upon check-in. Are you an spg member?

Yes, I'm an spg member, but I don't have many points. Are there benefits even without a lot of points? Does it matter if the reservations are in someone else's name? My MIL is a nurse so she reserved 2 rooms at the nurse rate of $129. You just can't beat that. This is the first time for the inlaws to go with us. (It's also the first time for any of us at S&D.)

Is there anything else I should ask for or any other tips for us? We just spent our dinner discussing which things we couldn't wait to do. What a fun way to spend the evening!!

cinder~ the planning and discussing is half the fun!

When you send your request put the confirmation # of your MIL reservation and your spg#. As long as you are checking in with them, you should be treated as a member. Have your card with you or your #.

Call the Dolphin directly about 5 days before your arrival. Just check on your ressie and ask if your request is attached. Then, don't hesitate to ask at check-in again--your most humble and polite way, lol, of course.

On my first trip to the Dolphin last summer, I had just joined spg - no points. I booked 2 rooms on the teacher rate - one for my family and one for my DBro family. Both rooms were comp upgraded to CL. We were there, though, at the end of August - a relatively quiet time.

Good luck!
:D

Thanks for the info. We were at WDW in March, but you'd think we hadn't been in years, the way we are all so excited!

It's never too soon to return to WDW. It's always exciting. I was there the last week of July at the Swan and am yearning for a return trip which won't be until next summer. :(
