I've heard/read that there are some lucky people who have bid for the Dolphin/Swan at $79/night on Priceline and have been very fortunate to get this bid/rate. Is that plus tax, resort fee, etc. If so what is the final rate? We are going Aug. 14-31 and would LOVE to get that rate - but it certainly is a gamble. I would hate to bid and then get a Downtown Disney Hotel. We now have the teacher's rate. As I understand, once you bid - it's yours, not matter if it's the Swam/Dolphin or Downtown Disney Hotel.

Need some GOOD input here cause we could save alot of $$ if we got the $79 rate for 17 nights.

Would love to hear from all who put the Dolphin/Swan request in and what did you end up with.

Stay with your teacher rate. Swan/Dolphin doesn't come up that much and I'd say iit's VERY UNLIKELY that they'll have rooms available for that many days in a row. ONLY use PL if you'd be OK with the Hilton.

The resort fee would be in addition to the $79 paid to Priceline. You would pay that to the hotel directly at check out time.

I also think you should avoid priceline if you are set on staying at the Swan/Dolphin. There is no guarantee that you will get the Swan/Dolphin and you cannot get a refund if yo end up at another hotel.

I put 60pounds as my bid for four nights at a resort from 28 july to 1st of august,I was amazed when the Dolphin came up,Iwas going to stay at a Disney hotel for our last week but decided to risk priceline again, I bid 60 pounds again and got Dolphin again for seven more nights at a total of 66 pounds per night including tax but not resort fee. I bid on priceline.co.uk I am paying just over 730 english pounds for 11 nights which i think is brilliant:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks for all your input re: Dolphin on Priceline vs Teacher's Rate. FYI....I called the Dolphin and spoke w/a supervisor/manager and informed them of the $79 Priceline rate and asked if it was at all possible to get that rate through them. The answer was "no" only through Priceline. However, they did upgrade us to a room w/balcony w/a lake/Epcot view AND they waived the resort fee. So I'm happy.

Thanks to all of you for your input.
