We just changed our reservations for July from Port Orleans - Riverside to the Dolphin... was this the right decision? The Dolphin just looks like more fun. But is there any suggestions to get the most from this resort and keep the cost down?

Thanks Mary

By coincidence our next-to-last visit was @ PO/Riverside and our last was Dolphin. We much prefer Dolphin for the short walk to MGM, Boardwalk and Epcot, as well as the white sand beach and pools. I'm told you can't waive the Resort Fee anymore, so next trip we'll be sure to use the Fitness Center and coffee machine. Actually, we used the coffee maker last trip, only with our own coffee.

As for cost, unless you qualify for a Teacher/Nurse/Government discount, keep watching this forum which recently had a special for $139 per night. Even if you booked for more, it should be no problem to cancel and get the lower rate. Also, join the Starwood program @SPG.Com. Starwood mwembers sometimes get better treatment even if they don't have any points yet.

you will love this place! great pool, great location, great restaurants. we loved it!

You will love the Dolphin. We just had our 4th stay there two weeks ago. It is an excellent resort...wonderful service, beautiful grounds and very convenient.

Tubbi's is open 24 hours in case you get hungry (and the food is very good). There is also 24 hour room service if you don't want to go to Tubbi's (but, you will see people in their pajama's...lol)

You made the right choice..there is no comparing the PO-riverside and the Dolphin. PO disney moderate...just ok...wouldn't stay there again. Dolphin...deluxe resort...would stay there over and over again.

Have a great trip!

Stayed at the Dolphin 2/16-2/24/03 for the second time. We checked in around 7:00pm and were told by bellperson that 1,100 rooms were checked in for a convention the day before we arrived. We still requested and got a free upgrade to a balcony room at check-in. We were also offered Club Level but wanted the balcony. We are Starwood Gold member and I flashed my Gold card at Check in. We asked to have the resort fee waived when we checked in and "Jason" said no problem but when we got our bill on checkout morning the 10.00 per day charge was on it. DH went down to the desk and had it deleted with no problem.

We love the pools and great location and I'm sure you will too.
Be sure to buy the refillable mugs at Tubbis. Great savings on coffee, etc.

Any questions, just ask.
