Anyone know or have first-hand knowledge of the renovation progress on the Dolphin? Had a friend that heard it was ahead of schedule but was wondering if anyone knew this to be true, what floor are they now on and if they are still doing the renovations floor by floor(bottom to the top). Anyone heard anything recently?

As usual, thanks to all!

If there's a choice between a low floor renovated room or a high floor unrenovated room, what would you choose? I can't decide what to request.

Good question!

I guess I'd choose a renovated room on a lower floor, as long as we still had a good view of the fireworks from Epcot's Illuminations!

I'll miss the cute palm tree decor, but change is good also!

I've read wonderful things about the Heavenly beds at the Swan, just how do the Sweet Sleepers at the Dolphin compare?

I called the Dolphin last week and was told the renovations are well underway. She mentioned the floor they were working on and I think she said 4th floor. I asked about the sweet sleepers and she said she never heard of them! She said the Dolphin is getting Heavenly Beds. I'm not complaining! I know on their website it said the weston's were getting heavenly beds and sheraton's were getting sweet sleepers or vise versa.

Thanks Muffy!

I wonder if the 4th floor means ALL of the 4th floor, including the wing rooms (with balconies.)

Just returned from the Dolphin (June 19 - 23). Had a 6th floor pool view room. The renovations have not reached the 6th floor. However we constantly saw mattresses and chairs being carted into the hotel.

From the outside walking paths you could see that many of the 1st floor rooms appear to be draped in plastic and "under renovation" Additionally, the hallway leading to the Grotto pool was covered in plastic (this is the entrance we saw the mattresses and furniture being carried through).

This was my family's first stay at the Dolphin, and I must say that even though we had one of the "old" rooms, my husband and I found the beds to be very comfortable.

Just returned yesterday........and heard that about 200 or so rooms were done, not sure what the schedule is for the next 1300 or so. ;) I second the previous posters report of plastic protection on the ground floor hallway at the west end near the healthclub and pool entrance door... and furniture being carted in and out and so forth. I did overhear a couple entering that ground floor west wing, voicing some trepidation about the "excuse our appearance" sign and carpet protection in the hallway...but the woman said to her DH "Well, it's worth it, they said the room was just totally renovated :) " The renovations were not in any way a detriment to our vacation, but the ground outside that entrance door by the pool was a bit mucked up by the work..things being brought in and out I suppose.
We actually saw some workmen in several 6th floor east wing rooms.........not sure if this was part of renovations or some other maintenance going on in those rooms. It seemed to be more along the lines of painting as opposed to furniture- moving in and out, but I didn't ask or snoop enough to find out for sure :) Our sixth floor room was not yet renovated, at least it had the same decor as in my previous 4 visits.
However......I DID actually see a "HEAVENLY BED" tag on my king mattress! The sheet got yanked off yesterday morning as I wrestled my suitcase packing it yesterday morning. DH was sitting in a chair by the bed and (having overheard my conversation about S/D bedding with another DISer the night before) said "Hey, that tag says "Heavenly Bed"! Sure enough, and I took a picture of the tag...which got the  from DH, but I have PROOF! ;) LOL. Actually, I never had a bad bed at the Dolphin, though I've heard some people have had complaints.

Looks like by the time next June rolls around, everything will be done!!
