Any one eaten at the Picabu restaurant at the Dolphin?
If so any recommendations on what to have?
What exactly do you get with the Picabu breakfast?
Any comments on other restaurants at the Dolphin would be welcome too! (We'll be there in 3 months!!)

Picabu was great! We stayed at the Swan 31 Mar til 7 Apr 2007 and ate numerous times at Picabu. On our first evening (long day of flying) I had salmon (you get a choice of sides - 2 I think) and DD18 had the grilled or rotisserre chicken. Both were huge and very tasty. This is a "cafeteria" kind of place. And you can get food (anything they serve) to go. Fruit, salads, pizza, burgers, cereal, ..........you name it.

If you are in the mood for a snack, get it here. If you want a large meal, get it here. They are open 24 hours a day!

Oh, I forgot to add that I had lunch one day at Fresh. It was really good. I had spent the morning by the pool and DD18 had some spa treatments and I decided togo there spur of the moment. I'm glad I did.

The "Picabu Breakfast" looks relatively cheap. Can anyone recommend it?
And can anyone tell me what "Biscuits and Sausage Gravy" is exactly? (Sorry I'm from England :confused3 ....sounds good though!)

I am from Boston and we usually do not have that offering here, but I have had it. I would say it is a thickened white sauce or gravy with sausage bits or sausage flavoring poured over a roll or bread offering. I know that we use different terminology....so more like a white sausage gravy or sauce over a round dinner roll..

Maybe our Southern Disers can explain it better.

Any southern restaurant prides itself on the biscuits being fresh, too :)

I like Picabu, not only for the great prices and decent food, but also for the utter lack of crowds.

Anyone had breakfast at Picabu? Or Fresh? Or anyway remotely near the Dolphin? :)

We had breakfast at Picabu 2 times and I got stuff to take back to the room for breakfast 2 times also. This is a cafeteria style place. You move along and choose which items you want (there are also "pre-packaged" things like some wraps, sandwiches, desserts, salads). The choices are numerous. Any specific questions?

Thanks LindaR.
Do you know what you get for the "Picabu Breakfast" @ $8.75?
can you choose your breakfast items buffet style? i.e. sausage, bacon, eggs of varios types or is it just the set dishes from the menu?.
