Dolphin or Swan??

A friend is a starwood member and asked what is better of the two. I have only stayed at the Dolphin and that was a long time ago. Which of these two would you recommend? I want to give her a fair answer. Thanks.

It really depends on personal preference. Swan is smaller and more quiet and intimate. Dolphin is a large energy filled place with more restaurants and is a little closer to the main pool. The laundry room is also at the Dolphin. Those are the main differences.

Everytime DW and I have stayed at the Dolphin, we have stayed in a king bed. I would go Dolphin b/c of Picabu's (24 hour restaurant/buffeteria), the restaurants, and it is just a bit bigger. Dolphin is the more intimate of the two restaurants- a bit more boutique feeling. The Dolphin is technically a Sheraton while the Swan is a Westin.

Have stayed at both. Swan's rooms seem a little smaller when you have 2 beds because of the queen vs. double beds in the Doplhin. Swan seems a little more formal in design, vs Dolphin I feel is cheerier and more Disney like. Also, as someone stated prior, the laundry and Picabu and the Dolphin fountain are all in the Dolphin. I found myself having to trek over to the Dolphin while staying at the swan, and not vice versa when I stayed at the Dolphin.

Oh, in coming back on the bus from the parks, you stop at the Swan first before the Dolphin which was nice having cranky kids.

Both are great hotels, so you really can't go wrong with either. I would probably choose the Dolphin next time, but it is also alot bigger with longer halls and more crowds. I like that there are more resources there than the Dolphin.
