Dolphin or CR??

We are both teachers and eligible for Teacher Rate at the Dolphin. One of us is eligible for the SOG/CR military rate. It looks like it's about the same money, which would you prefer and why if you could help us decide? Thanks.

Hello, I'm a teacher too!
We spent a week at each one from August 10th -23rd. We thought the CR was great and loved the bay lake area. However, we also found it very noisey. Do you have kids? You may want to try the Dolphin if you do not have children. It was very quiet. We also loved the location of the Dolphin. We have a teenager and a 10 year old and they both prefered the Dolphin as well. As a matter of fact, we have reservations there for the week after Christmas too. Good luck with your decision. We also qualify for the govt. rate at SOG (Contemporary until SOG finishes their expansion) and the govt. rate offered at the Swan and Dolphin.

I hope to never have to stay at the Contemporary! It just does nothing for me, I don't care if the monorail runs through it or not! I think it's one of the ugliest buildings on WDW property!

We've stayed at both the Swan and Dolphin now, and I like both, but for different reasons.

The Dolphin I think is more family friendly. There are more restaurants there, I think it's a closer walk to the Grotto Pool and it's just a more lively fun resort.

The Swan seemed much more quieter (even though it was a full house during our Easter break say in April 2001) and it's a more refined and elegant resort.

I will say that I like the bathroom set-up at the Swan over the Dolphin and the queen size beds at the Swan.

Other than that, the walk to the friendship boat launch (to take to Epcot or MGM) is equal from both resorts.

Go for the Swan or Dolphin!
