Dolphin Jr Suite pricing?

I have received some helpful advice here in the past regarding the Jr Suites at the Dolphin, and am considering this option instead of 2 regular rooms. When I called the Dolphin a couple of weeks ago I was told the rack rate for the suite and that there may be a AAA discount available based on when we travel. Today I had some dates in mind, so called back. Now instead of a discount off the rate for the suite, they say it is a $300 upgrade over whatever price (discounted or not) that you get for a regular room. Does this sound right or should I call back later???

I would call back and I would also ask for the AAA rate.
They should not tell you that there MAY be a AAA discount... they should just tell you if there is.

I asked about the AAA rate for a visit in mid November or early December and they said no discounts are available at this time, but that they may add them closer to the dates. I notice on the DU website that some dates in November and December (closer to the holidays) already show AAA discounts available. Maybe I'll try a different hotel...
