This sort of thing is happening more often isnt it about time to stop breeding these animals allow them to live out their lives and end this cruelty.
Ok first off, that article is unbelievably biased. How do you know the dolphin "In a desperate bid to escape captivity" leaped from its pool. It may have mistook the distance it had in between the water and edge of the pool.
I cant stand you people. Your all over message boards and facebook degrading Seaworld and everything it stands for. Seaworld's animals are treated with the upmost care and respect. Seaworld doesnt get any of its animals from the dolphin hunt and all of Seaworlds animals were rescues from the wild due to injury. Or rescued from other Marine parks in which the park had threatened to kill the animal because it wasnt profitable to the park.
Go spew your BS somewhere else. The people here see through your lies and are excited to spend a relaxing day at a great park dedicated to Conservation, Rehabilitation, and the well being of animals. Which is more than your lazy a$$ or PETA or any other stupid animal rights organization does.

See how many animals the "Rescue Organization" PETA has killed. In 2009, PETA recieved 2,366 animals. 8 Were adopted by families. What happened to the others? 2,301 were put down. KILLED. The rest were transferred because PETA didnt want to take care of them. Where is PETA or any animal rights organization in the gulf coast oil spill? Oh thats right, they arent there. Seaworld is though. Waiting to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need. The majority of profits made from ticket sales goes right back into conservation efforts. PETA spends their millions of dollars in donation and government funded money on hurtful, slanderous, Publicity Stunts. They have gone so far as to compare the killing of animals to the holocaust.....

Speaking of disrespect. The first show back following the tragedy on Feb 24th, PETA decided to spend the day protesting outside Seaworld. And where were they protesting over? They were protesting on top of memorials, flowers and letters dedicated to the wonderful person who lost her life. They literally, STOOD ON TOP of peoples memorials. Stomping them into the ground.
I hate you "animal rights extremists." You make assumptions based on speculation. Until you know the facts, of how the whales and other animals are treated in between shows, during the day and night. How each trainer loves and cares for the animal as if it was their own child, YOU have no right to make any judgment.
For the people on this board. I urge you. Please dont listen to these lies. Please continue to visit Seaworld and see for yourself the good that is done by Seaworld for animals around the world and see how the trainers love and care and respect each and every animal that calls Seaworld home.
