My GF and I just booked our 7 day Land/Sea for Nov. 28. We were interested in the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter in Nassau...If you have done it before, how was it? Is it worth the $$? :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Myself 45 y/o DD, my 12 y/o dd, and 15 y/o ds did it on the 04/04/04 Wonder cruise...my Daughter is a huge dolphin fan so of course it was a huge thrill for her...my son liked it alot too..as for me...well it was ok..but not worth $113 to me..I am not a huge dolphin fan. Also you have to realize that your actual time interacting with the dolphin is maybe 15 minutes max. The rest of the time you watch him with other people. It is also a 45 minute ride to the island...so our whole adventure started at about 9 am..got back to Nassau at 3 pm..kinda shot the whole day. One thing to consider though, on the way back from Blue Lagoon, the ferry boat stops at Atlantis first before going to DCL. Had I known, I may have made arrangements to get off the ferry at Atlantis to check it out..as it was we ran out of time to go there...Hope that helps...

We did the dolphin swim at blue lagoon last year. LOVED IT! Yes it was worth it.

Just back from the 3 day wonder and we did the Dolphin Swim . It was AWESOME. My DH and DD 8 actually did the swim, and I was able to stand on the deck and take pics and video. They were in the water with the dolphins for at least 45 minutes. If you are thinking of doing the Dolphins...go for the swim and not the encounter.

To those that have done the Dolphin Encounter...did they have pictures and/or video available for purchase of your family and the dolphins? if so did you pay for it before or after the encounter?

we are getting close and just trying to work out all the little details...wondering if we should bring some type of payment on the excursion.:sunny:

We did the encounter as my son is only 5 but booked it directly, not through Disney...Yes, they do take pics and videos. . You can choose to purchase them at the end.

One thing about the video, the video will include your entire group (that is all , not just your family). The pics are of your family alone.

They also offered, I think it was called, a Photo Album..This one you pay or decide to get before hand. They they take ALOT of pics of you which you can then choose from , and they make an album for you..

Sorry, but I cannot remember how much everything was...

Just got back from the Wonder on April 30th. We did the Dolphin encounter since we were traveling with a 4yr old. Wouldn't have missed it for anything. It was a great experience. The video was $48.00 and the album was $119.00 but in my eyes both were worth it. The album consisted of every picture they took of every one in your party... being kissed, hugged, and danced with. on the cover they place a family shot with the dolphin. To me this was a great rememberence of our trip. They can put up to 5 people in 1 album you get 8X10's and 5X7's. in a nice album with "STARS OF BLUE LAGOON" on the front. Hope you have a Wonderful Trip.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :wave2:

What is the difference between the dolphin swim and encounter? Also is there a price diff. .
On the Excursions web site on disney cruise lines I didn't see anything about the swim., so do we book this when we get there.
Since I'm asking, is it better to book this on your own or go with the disney excursion?
We will be going on the 3 day land/4 day sea cruise.
Thanks for your help!

SWIM-WITH-THE-DOLPHINS
Approximately a 30-minute swim where you touch, kiss, feed and even dance with these lovable mammals. Enjoy the thrill of the human hurdle and breath-taking foot push!

CLOSE ENCOUNTER
Interact with the dolphins from a waist deep platform. Each guest will be able to touch, feed, kiss, dance with and hug a dolphin.

the close encounter is booked through DCL directly you cannot book the swim except direct through
http://www.dolphinencounters.com

My SIL did the swim and said it was out of this world!!

Do you get to stay on the island after your encounter or do you have to leave right away?
this is on the excursion booked thru the cruise ship directly?

anyone know?
