Dolphin Encounter-no sunscreen?

I was wanting to book the Dolphin Encounter for our Aug repo cruise and then read the note about no suntan lotion or t shirts allowed as they are harmful to the dolphins. I totally understand how all that sunscreen lotion from hundreds of people wouldn't be healthy for them (t shirts I'm not sure why).
Anyway my 2 boys have such pasty white skin - they'll burn in 30 sec in that hot sun never mind 30 min (that's a slight exaggeration ) But I have had several scary moles removed and so am skin cancer paranoid.
Is the encounter under cover at all? Can they wear those sun suites (the ones that look kind of like wet suites) and a hat?

I did the dolphin adventure in Cozumel with Dolphin Discovery....and I wore a tshirt the whole time. I had to wear the life vest they provide but I wore the tshirt as well. I am a bigger women and refuse to be caught dead in a bathing suit lol. Sunscreen? I know nothing about that part...but didnt wear it anyway. HTH

I would try to contact them directly and ask if you can wear rash guards. My guess is it's a safety issue with cotton tshirts, since they tend to stretch out in the water.

We did the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau, and it all took place under a canopy. The shady water was cold, but they provide complimentary wet suits and lockers. Everyone took advantage of these- plus we looked so cute in our family picture in those matching outfits!

Thanks Honu for the link to rash guards - their stuff looks good - the boys sometimes resist the sun suites I have because they don't look "cool".
The canopy in Nassau sounds great - I hope they have that in Acapulco.

Here is a better site for kids stuff. Tuga I couldn't find it yesterday. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is good and it's cool - so they will wear it. We can usually find rash guards in sporting goods stores, but if you can't find them in your area Tuga is a good option.
