Since I've been e-mailing my trip reports to my dear Mom, who has WebTV and is having a hard time reading them in the blue font I've been using, I'll go back to using black! Hi Mom!

Here we are, already on our third day at the world! I could never understand why time passes by so quickly while on vacation!

Our breakfast today consisted of my usual (Chocolate Balance Bar, water and coffee) but DH and sons went down to Tubbi's Buffeteria. DH just had a Bagel w/cream cheese, and the boys had French Toast w/bacon and DS#2 also had a side order of Home Fries. All three had sodas as well. Total spent, $24.59.

Today was MGM day! We were out the door to the Friendship boat launch to MGM, arriving around 9:15. If the travel industry is still hurting because of September 11th, it sure was hard to tell! There were lots of people at the parks, but I didn't look at it as a hindrance, I was glad to see people back to having fun again, enjoying WDW, the parks, the sights, the sounds and the smells!

The boys always love checking out the classic car on Sunset Blvd.;

First place we wanted to hit was Rock N Roller Coaster. As we got in line, we already knew DS#2 had planned on taking the side door out. And he did with DH. But as I stood in line (with hardly any wait by the way) DS#2 also decided to panic, and followed behind them.

So there I stood, all by my lonesome! But I didn't mind! I thoroughly enjoyed my limo ride with Aerosmith! The first track was Young Lust followed by Love in An Elevator.

After that, DH and I wanted to ride Tower of Terror, but the boys said no way! I've said this before, and I'll say it again, how can two parents who absolutely love thrill rides, breed two kids that don't? DH rode it alone, while me and the boys waited in the gift shop.

About this time, I started planning on a place to make lunch reservations. I had read here on the DIS that 50's Prime Time Cafe (one of our faves) was closed for refurbishment until Monday, 2/4. We decided to take a walk over, just to see...maybe it'll be open. But we didn't have our hearts set on it. We really thought we'd be dining at Sci-Fi Drive In today.

As we got closer, I noticed that the door was open. Could it be? Was it open? Looked pretty empty to us! We stepped up to the counter, and there was a "cousin" with a nice smile waiting to help us! I asked her if they were going to be open for lunch today, and she said YES! YIPEE! So we made our reservations, and as she was gathering our info, she asked if we had dined with them before, and we said "oh yes!" She welcomed us back, and put in a request for a table with a TV! I mentioned that I thought they would be closed, and she said that they had finished the refurbishment early! Yay for us!

So, with a few hours to go, next up was the Great Movie Ride. From there we headed over to Star Tours, and the NY City Street area, We had planned on doing the Backlot Tour, but we had so much fun hanging around NYC, and taking pictures, that we worried we'd be late for our P.S. (reservation.) So we walked around some more (MGM is perfect for just admiring the "sets") and waited for our lunch time to arrive.

Even with a reservation, we still had to wait, but only about 5 minutes. I made a point to look around to see what had been "refurbished" and the upholstery on the chairs had been re-done. I also noticed a few different knick-knacks. I don't know if they were new, or I had never noticed them before. Everything seemed freshly polished and extra shiney. We also noticed some of the waiters from Hollywood & Vine coming over to amire the new floors, etc. and heard some of their comments on how good everything looked!

We were called to our table, and had cousin Amparo. She pointed out "Mom's favorites" which were the Pot Roast and the Shrimp Salad (a new item on the menu.) The Chicken Salad is no longer offered. She didn't have to push the Pot Roast too much, because that is DH's favorite! So, he got his usual, I got the Turkey Sandwhich, and the boys got chicken fingers, and a hamburger off the kid's menu. I also ordered a Chocolate Malt. I only have them once a year, while we are at MGM! They are so worth the wait, albeit chock full of fat grams and calories! DS#2 kept putting his elbows on the table (not realizing how often he kept doing it) and cousin Amparo kept reminding him to remove them! By the end of the meal, he was standing in the corner while our section of the restaurant shouted "no elbows on the table!" DS took it all in stride, he has a good sense of humor--most of the time! And I got it all on video too! One of these days, I have to try the Smores for dessert because they look so good, but we are always way too full! Total cost of the meal, before tip; $43.94.

I think after our lunch here, we were pretty much tuckered out (fat and happy is more like it!), so we decided to head back to the Dolphin and hit the Grotto Pool for some quality pool time while the weather was cooperating! We were keeping our eyes on the weather forecast, and starting tomorrow, it was supposed to get cooler.

As we entered the lobby and made our way to the elevators, I couldn't help but notice more and more "suits" checking in. Little did we know that the Dolphin and Swan was about to be taken over by a rather large convention! The men in black were swarming like locusts! Not to worry though, they were there helping out the economy!:rolleyes:

After the pool, we asked the boys where they would like to go, and Epcot was the answer! We arrived, and headed right for Future World, and did all our usual favorites (Spaceship Earth, Test Track, etc.) One ride we hadn't hit yet was Living with the Land. We planned on getting a little something to eat here, and then the ride. Why does that ride always seem to have so many people? Anyway, here's what we had to eat at the Sunshine Season Food Fair; from the Pasta and Potato counter DS#2 had the Linguine w/Marinara (included a breadstick) and a coke for a total of $9.31. DS#1 had the Chicken Strips and a coke for a total of $8.99 from the BBQ counter. DH and I really weren't too hungry, so we had a Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a rather large (but very tasty) Rice Krispy Treat. We split a coke, for a total cost of $5.80. (can you tell, we're really watching our weight--LOL!) We ended up skipping Living with the Land because the line was extremely long, and fast passes were long gone.

We walked back to Innoventions and sent ourselves an IBM electronic postcard.

And from here we just meandered around, enjoying the sunset and watched as all the lights came on!

We were back to the Dolphin by 8:30pm and got ready for the nightly fireworks display from our balcony!
