Dolphin Club level privileges...

in my balcony room? I guess I want to know if you can get conceirge perks but be in a non club level room? And if no complimentary upgrade, how much for this privilege? I really want to keep my balcony room and am wondering if this is possible and worth it?

we used starwood points www.spg.com to upgrade to CL access last year. it cost 1000 points a day, and I upgraded at check-in. I know that there are varying experiences on this topic

Dolphin is no longer offering privlidges to those not on "club level". We were able to keep our balcony room last November and given "club privlidges", it was wonderful. This year I will have to decide between keeping my balcony or going to the club floor if I am upgraded (SPG!). None of the club level rooms have a balcony so its a difficult decision. I booked a balcony room as we love to sit on the balcony both morning and evening. As of right now I would probably decline the upgrade if offered.

I spoke with a representatve at the Dolphin as well as Starwood and they told me they were no longer offering the privlidges to those not staying on the club level floor. Evidently it was getting too crowded and too difficult to monitor who belonged there and who did not.

When did you speak to these people? I was there less than a month ago in a suite in a different section of the hotel and we had no problem getting CL access.

Robin,
Platinum SPG members are still given CL privs while on another floor. We just got back from 16 days at the Dolphin and had CL privs too. Did you enjoy the executive suite? We were upgraded to an executive suite too! They were fully booked and no Jr. suites were available. What a great perk!

Wow - thats good to know Robin. Actually just last week I spoke with "Anne" at the Dolphin and prior to that I spoke with "Linda" at Starwood when I booked my stay. I am now a bit more optimistic that I can have my balcony and club level privledges as well. I am only Gold level so maybe they were quoting my chances not just policy? Anne was very firm about it so I guess I will be happy just to have my balcony. Also don't want others to get their hopes up and be dissapointed.
