I found rain ponchos, package of two, for 1.00. Each package had 1 clear poncho and one colored (red, blue, yellow) poncho. Also found travel size "flat folding" umbrellas for 1.00 each.
I'm stocking up for Disney in June

We got our rain ponchos at the Dollar Tree also this year. There were two in a package and they worked GREAT! Cheap enough to just throw away at the end of the day! :teeth:

We've also used the Dollar Tree ponchos, but our last batch seem to be sort of skimpy in the hood, and they're just not as good as they used to be. Oh, well, what should we expect for 50 cents. We also used the Dollar Tree umbrellas and unfortunately found out that they can also be considered to be disposable. They didn't even make it through a day, and the metal parts were bent or broken, and the fabric was coming untied at the posts, leaving metal spikes sticking out. I think I'll stick with my Eddie Bauer compact umbrellas in the future!

Already got our dollar tree ponchos for our trip in July. At 2 for $1 its nice to just throw them away when you're done and not have to lug them all over the park.

How much do you use the ponchos? With a party of 5 how many would we need for a couple of days?

That's hard to predict. It may not rain at all but chances are you'll get at least a shower or two. I took one poncho for each of us last year and draped them over the chairs in the room to dry, folded them up the next day and we were good to go again! Since they come 2 to a package I would get 4 packages and that would give 3 extras just in case. They're small when folded, take them with you all the time. They don't help if they're in the room! (I found this out last year....)

We're a party of five and we go in July which is the rainy season. I think the first time we went we bought the Mickey ponchos and paid between $30 and $40 for them. They were heavy to carry around. Now I buy about 15 packs of them (30 ponchos) but we're there for two weeks.

I also love the hanging shoes racks. I buy a couple of them for all my girls shoes and then throw them away when we leave!

We go in Sept. Three years ago, I took 12 ponchos (3 of each of us) for a 10 day stay. We are still using the same ponchos! Luckily it didn't rain enough to use them. Last year during the hurricaine we did use 3 of them. I hope they have a good shelf life :goodvibes

We also bought ponchos for our trip. Found they were great at home on rainy days when I wanted to get out and work in the yard. My husband also likes to wear his while painting in order to keep the paint off his clothes. They are definitely worth the $1.00! :confused3 :cheer2: :cheer2: :badpc:

The Children's Place has Anorak (sp?) jackets 30% off ($5.59 each) right now. These are the kind of rain jackets that a fabric like/breathable pullover half zip that TUCK INTO A POCKET FOR EASY TOTE/STORAGE. My friend said Old Navy HAD these too (adults as well). Lands End makes them too, but pricier (quality tho).
