Dollar Tree adding a $1.25 price point

@ronandannette or other Canadians. Are there Dollar Stores up there? Or perhaps Toonie Towns?

Dollarama up here is great! I think at first they went with the "everything is a dollar" idea but that evolved to now, where everything is usually $5 and under.

I don't recall there ever being a backlash over prices, but with that said, the flexibility to tap and go with your credit or debit card lessens the concern over .25 or .50 increases - cash on hand is no longer king.

Agree about plastic products - a lot of it is quite cheap, but they do carry a lot of useful everyday items that are less expensive than Wal-Mart. So certainly there are things to avoid, but more than enough to make up for that.

We have Dollar Tree in Ontario! Fairly new, and I don’t think it’s all $1. We have a lot more Dollarama stores, and they have prices up to $4 now.

I enjoy going there when I go to Ontario, there are so many different things, compared to Dollarama like you and @ronandannette mentioned. That place here is only good for gift cards or gift bags. The dollar tree has different things, and in English, which I will never find here.

Would disagree, but since I live in Ontario, I'm looking for different things at the store. Parchment paper, sponges, those silicone travel tubes etc. Good stuff for locals, not so much if you're passing through.
