Dollar car rentals are rip offs, do some research google them. Sounded like a good deal to me also, I paid 94.00 for a compact car for 4 days when I booked a flight to Orlando. Wound up costing over 300.00 and I can't seem to get any help from customer service. I was told that I would get money put back to my charge card from security deposit. Never happened!!!! Beware and do some research.

I've rented from them in them in the past with no issues. Their rates are back up so it's a moot point, but as long as you don't do a CC ahead of time, you can see the total cost before you pay.

File a dispute with your CC company.


Rates are down again right now. Lower than they were this morning for a May booking

I just booked a car with dollar, price was 475.00, after I booked price jumped to 600 with mandatory fees! I am canceling that reservation

I booked a full-size for 10 days (plus 3 hours) for 04/23 - 05/02. Total base rate was about $95, then $152 with all fees. This is the second time in two weeks that Dollar's rates have dropped to these lows, but then they go back up. You just have to check a few times a day.

Someone else (in the April car rental thread) was able to take advantage of this, too, so I'm glad I posted!

We have used Dollar before with no problems. Currently have a reservation for July 12 days with Thrifty ( same company) compact car $170.00 all taxes in! Same thing, looked on line, deal was there and then gone! Keep checking!

After you booked or when you went to the final screen before confirmation where they added in taxes/fees? Big difference.

May rates look amazing. I need a car in March and the best I can find is $100 over the May rates. My dates are March 7 - 14.

Got a great rate for late April. 117.00 for a full size. Final paperwork reflected the price offered.
