Mine went down $8 for a grand total of $61 since I made the original ressies 6 months ago....not bad for a minivan for 9 days..$241 grand total...

i just dropped $13 off my 9 day rental of a full sized car (from $220 to $207 after all taxes and fees) for mid-january by switching from budget to national.

i think i'd rather have a minivan for a few $$ more.

zurgswife--are you allowed to post what codes you're using to get that great rate? or can you pm me? i wonder if they expire on 12/31.

My fullsize rate for 2 weeks is down to 263, down from the original $334 ressie. I ended up also reserving a minivan, which is probably what I'll end up going with and that is down to $292, down $7 from when I reserved a few days ago. Even though I'm paying more for a minivan than for a fullsize, it's still $42 less that I was willing to pay for a fullsize when I first reserved it.

Tomorrow will be 7 days until my trip. Seems that the rates would stop dropping (not that I want them to, of course).

To get the rate I got just put your dates in for the regular rate and then use code "MAG". The regular weekly rate during the period I am going is $158.99 for the week plus the MAG code takes a percentage off.

The MAG code is with the orlando magiccard. You can print it online at go2orlando

peacefulgirl - You're not doing anything wrong except for travelling during XMAS week. I've found that most of the rental car specials are blocked out beginning around Dec. 17.

Have you tried Thrifty with code AU02 from mousesavers.com? I didn't figure our your exact travel dates, but 10 days over XMAS for a minivan comes to $344 and 10 days for an economy is $185. I think this is the best you'll find over XMAS. We're meeting family members who arrive Dec. 19 and this is the best rate I've seen since last May when I started checking for this timeframe. Good luck!

my rate dropped again, too! now at $190 after taxes and fees for 9 days in mid january for a full size car (with national). minivans are still too high, but i'm hoping that they'll drop in a few weeks so i can upgrade.
