Dollar or Thrifty Hawaii

I just got a great deal if I use my marriott points in Maui at either Dollar or Thrifty, (and possibly for our Oahu portion).

Has anyone used either of these in Hawaii, if so, did you like it and why or why not?

Never in Hawaii but I have used both before (and would definitely use them again). They are essentially the same company, which is why you often see them having the exact same prices.

I use the both on Oahu about once every other month. Unfortunately they are both off-site now (Airport Remodel). The shuttles are easy enough to catch but you used to be able to walk from baggage claim to your car. At their remote sites the two companies are pretty close to each other still.

I use Dollar most of the time on Oahu because they are priced better. The location is divided into two sides. One side is for regular customers. The other side is for Dollar Express customers. The Dollar Express side has a dedicated agent so I'm in and out in seconds. Thrifty has one long desk with agents and separate line for reward members. Also in my opinion Dollar has more shuttles which means a shorter wait when heading back to the airport.

Never has any bad experiences in Maui using Dollar either.
