I currently have a ressie for Alamo for approx $250.00 US for 11 days. I just checked Dollar and they are just over $200 for the same type of car and same amount of days. ANy experience with either? I believe both are right at the airport but any good or bad about either.

Thanks

I haven't used Dollar recently but when I did, there were no hassles. I would go for the cheaper rental, especially since they are both at the airport!

We only use Dollar and have never had a problem. Quick in and out of the airport. My dh goes and gets the car while I wait for the luggage. He usually gets the car before the luggage comes.

We rented from Alamo on our last trip and I will *never* use them again. The counter service clerk was *miserable* to deal with (truly a human being that had no business dealing with the public - EVER) and getting my FF miles credited was a nightmare that took 6 months (due to the counter clerk refusing to do it at time of rental). A manager in the garage tried to make things right (he overheard me discussing the treatment I'd received inside w/my dh), and I truly appreciated it, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

This time we're renting from Dollar -- got an intermediate car for $26.99/day so I can't complain! I also joined their Fastlane program and had my number applied to my reservation, so hopefully this rental experience will be fast and problem-free! :)
