NEVER seen it this high! I think it is at a 35 year high or more!
Time to go and get some more!

Awesome! I just paid for 2 adults on the Wildlife Discovery Excursion today!!! :woohoo:

:yay: Awesome!!!
We go next month and i am loving watching the dollar rise! last time we went was in 2002 and the dollar was $0.68

1.02930 according to xe.com or .97153 for those that go the other way.
WOW - might need to get some money switched over at those rates. Might need to convince dh to buy more DVC points at that price too!!

just reade our local paper, and they predict or suggest that the dollar may even go above par to $1.05... Now there would be a change!

We are buying into DVC now. Even though the points per dollar are higher now, with the exchangem it is cheaper to buy now than 2 years ago.

When we bought we paid 1.30 for the exchange

Watching and waiting to see what it's going to do!! popcorn::

Hey!

Although no expert, I suggest waiting until Wed. to buy USD. With the pending US Rate cute tuesday, especially if they make the rare 50 point cut instead of the usual 25 point cut. This should prop the CAD up even more!

Keep watching... it is around 0.987 now and flirting here and there with the march to and/or past 0.99

Yahoo!!!!! Gonna pay off the cruise now!!!

You sound like an expert to me...thanks very much!:thumbsup2

I am excited to see what tomorrow brings with the dollar climbing up!

It's like Christmas for us Canadians :cool1: I must admit I have not seen the inside of my bank as much as I have the last couple of weeks. I too am excited to see what tomorrow brings, here I was going to make another trip to the bank today, but after reading this thread I decided to wait another day.

I am do a conversion tomorrow (based on today's closing rate). I am happy with the FX and will take the market reaction to my advantage.

Will it continue to escalate at the witnessed rate of the last week? Who knows what will happen after the market settles down following the US Fed. Rate announcement today. It may see a more modest growth now the anticipated announcement has happened.

Canadian Interest Rate Announcement - Oct. 16th, 2007
This will be interesting... The US has just announced a rare 50 pt. drop in the rate, I do not know a lot about the History when comparing the two, but with the economy strong and inflation creeping up, will the BOC keep things "as is" and hope to keep inflation in in under 2.5% (Target 2% w/Acceptable range 1-3%). An increase in interest rate to keep inflation under control will also affect the CAD and potentially put more mfg. sector jobs at risk as we push to and past equity with the USD. (BUT will certainly keep us "DISsers" happy!)

Wow, I wonder how high we will get by week's end.

Great news for everyone travelling or buying currency! If this holds, it will be worth it to do some shopping down South.

Can we merge the two threads???

Anyways, as posted in the other, I just looked at the FX and................

0.998 or 1.003

Almost PAR!!! ... I figured the market would have settled after Tuesday!

Hooray!!! :woohoo:
