Dollar Express

Just wanted to send lots of thanks to whoever's post I read a couple of weeks ago suggesting Dollar Express. After our flight landed in Orlando we headed to the Rental cars with our two kids - you should have seen this line of mad people - some had been waiting over two hours! I looked around and saw the Dollar Express line that was EMPTY - went over with dh looking at me like I was crazy and got waited on and had our car in 5 minutes! DH loved me the rest of the trip - he said he would never complain about me being on the computer again if I got tips like that!

I never saw that thread but I HAD to chime in on this one... I read about Dollar Express on Mousesavers a few years ago. It was the best thing I EVER signed up for. WE too have passed many mad looking people, only to get our car right away while they waited.... It is the best! Glad it worked for you too!

It's a really good idea to join the preferred renter program of every car rental company that you even THINK you might rent from. It sure isn't usual to see nobody in the preferred line. You'd think that more people would take advantage of rather than complain about how long it takes to pick up a rental car but most don't seem to get the idea that their problem is one that they had control over.
Congratulations for passing the long line and getting expedited service. You were on your way to starting your vacation and in a better mood than all those folks in line!

Can you sign up for dollar express after having the reservation? I already have a ressie but would love to have the preferred service. I have it for Avis and use it on business all the time. It is awesome going right to your car!

Yes, you can sign up for Dollar Express after making a reservation. As soon as you have your DE number you'll need to call or e-mail Dollar requesting that they add the number to your reservation.

Yes - I didn't sign up until a couple of weeks ago - I had my number just in case, but my card arrived the day before we left! I didn't call them or anything, just had it in hand when I got to the counter.

Thank you for this info. I am using Dollar for our July trip too and signed up for the Express deal.

I have my card, I am putting it in my wallet today.

I also have to chime in on this one. We signed up a couple of years ago and ever since and not waited more than a couple of minutes.
Best thing we ever signed up for.

I have dollar express to and its great. We also gave alamos quick silver program and Nationals as well.

I wasn't able to successfully add my DE number online after making my first Dollar ressie (I think DE was called FastLane then). However I was able to get it added by sending an e-mail message to Dollar's customer service department. They handled it quickly, as they have when I've changed or added coupons or changed flight information after first making a reservation.
Try rhelpdesk@dollar.com and make sure that you provide your confirmation number as well as the DE number that you want added.
