Dollar Express questions

Hi,

We always book a fly-drive with Virgin and same applies next March.

I understand it's quicker with express but is this still the case if you haven't booked the vehicle direct with Dollar?
Do you still get discounts on upgrades if you book with VH rather than direct with Dollar?

I assume that with booking through VH direct that Dollar would not have all the paperwork ready in advance, is this the case? I know the rental companies do have a list of people renting the cars, presumably made available by Virgin - not sure if this means they are aware you are an Express member or not.

Anyone any thoughts on leaving your credit card details on your express application? Is it secure etc..

We've not rented through Virgin for a number of years, but, the last time we did we went to a different desk for VH only (on the opposite side of the "concourse"). If this is still the case, then I do not think that using Express would work for you, as I do not remember seeing an Express line at the desk we used.

As far as putting your details into the Express system, do you mean online? If so, I've done it and have no qualms about doing so.

PM DisWolves if he does not reply to you, he was on our flight in August and did this, we stayed in the regular Dollar express line, he was sent over to Virgin side but had Express card, I believe it saved him some time, saved me about a hour each time we have used it.
I have used credit cards with major companies for years, never given it a 2nd thought.
Dollar in Vegas you go direct to parking lot and miss the desks.

We booked our car hire through usrentacar, had our dollar express number added to the reservation, went to the dollar express counter, no problems.

We have booked our flydrive with VH for next year and we are not taking their car hire. We will be booking with usrentacar and applying our dollar express number to that reservation.

There is no problem using companies like usrentacar or Airnet etc but if you take the Virgin car they won't let you use the regular Express line.
Johnny, did you get a good rate with Virgin? I priced up for next August for 24 days and they were £300 more expensive than Airnet.

Thanks Matt, yes we used this special Virgin desk before, to be honest it was mainly the offers on upgrade that attracted me to Dollar Express. We kind of booked the wrong car really (F4) and have to upgrade to either a Premium (Chrysler Pacifica) or Minivan to accomodate Josh's children's wheelchair.
Dollar used to have a Magnum estate type on their website for F4 and I was going to look at that just for a change but it's no longer shown and anyway a Premium/Minivan would be better probably anyway.

Had a Chyrsler Pacifica in LA last month, lovely to drive.

We had one last year and liked it also.

To be honest I will probably just upgrade to one of these - it's only one group higher than the F4 we have already.

I used Dollar Express in August at MCO after booking with VH.
Virgin have a stand opposite the normal Dollar Express stand. I was moved infront of about 10 people after showing the card at the information desk.
I have a link whereby you can forward your VH details and Dollar will register this against your VH booking. I will dig it out and repost.

Hi Johnny

Our DD and BF flew with VH in September, but enrolled with Dollar Express before flying out.
They went to the Virgin desk first and then went straight to the front of the Dollar Express Lane. No problem at all.

If you have any problems with pre registering before you go - just email or call Dollar - and they will make sure your details are all in the system!

It saves us quite a bit of time!!
