I have booked a one way rental with Dollar for our cruise in Feb. Does anyone know the difference between the two programs? I want a hassle free pick up and return. I was going to sign up for Dollar Express but then noticed Rapid Rental. Just curious if anyone has used it and if there is any benefit in either. Thanks!

I believe the Rapid Rental encompasses a number of things to make your vacation/travel easier and go more smoothly. The Dollar Express program is what you sign up for to input your profile information and skip the counter at the airport.

Thanks! I didn't think Dollar had a skip the counter service, but I'll sign up for it just in case :)

They do. If you use the Dollar Express program you do everything ahead of time and can go right to the garage. There are guys there waiting to help you. We rented a Mustang convertible in Oct. '12 and they had 3 different ones there waiting. They also offered us a Camaro that was just pulling up as well. My son wanted to go with the Mustang so we did, but they would have been fine giving us any of the choices. This was much better than using the counter as we did in March '12. We had a really good rate for an SUV reservation and they selected the car for us at the counter and we had to take a Dodge Nitro. It seemed to take forever. Had I done it the other way I bet I could have had other/better options.

At MCO with Dollar Express, you go out to the garage and they have an electronic board that will have your name and car space number listed. You take that car or have the option to pick another (same class).

Since MCO has side A and side B, you should input your flight info and it SHOULD show up on the proper side. I say "should" because when I went over Marathon weekend, it didn't. I went to side A(since that was the side AirTran baggage was on) and I wasn't listed. It wasn't a big deal because the agent at the booth printed out a copy of my contract and walked me over to the cars. But had there been a line of people there, I would not have been happy to wait.
