Is there anywhere at the Dolphin to watch the Epcot Illuminations besides your room? (Similar to California Grill at Contemporary.)

How bad is the view from the "cheaper rooms" that don't face toward the park? What do you see? A parking lot?

Thanks to anyone that can help :)

The views from the Dolphin are not as nice as the Swan in my honest opinion. Even the parking lot view at the Swan is nice because you can see over to MGM and the Boardwalk. The Dolhpin views are either grotto pool area, looking at the Swan, some views that overlook roofs (not many) and the front parking lot and entrance of WDW.

Look at the FAQ at the top of this page for all the disocunts offered at the Swan and Dolphin. You may qualify for something you did not know :)

We stayed there over New Year's with a "standard view" . Even though I am a SPG gold, I did not get any upgrades because the hotel was full. We had a view of the roof of the convention center, and that's all we could see. I can't complain though because other times we have booked standard rooms and gotten an upgrade to a Club level or a balcony room.

The Dolphin is great!! even without a view.

Yes, there is an AP discount but it is not nearly as good as the nurse/teacher/government employee rate that they have. There are actaully several different discounts offered and you just have to look to see which ones you qualify for.

The East Tower gives a view of the Boardwalk and if you are in the farthest tower, you will have an unobstructed view of Epcot.

The benefit of the Dolphin over the Swan was basically Tubbi's that was open 24/7 so you could run and fill your mug up easily when you got back from the parks

DH thinks I'm crazy, but I always take pictures of the views from our rooms.

If you go here, the second picture and the last picture are the views from our room at the Dolphin. We were on the 11th floor, and the room number is on the picture of the door (another strange quirk--I always take a picture of the door of the room!)
