I hear its a must have at Disneyland all over the DisBoards, ive never had it before. Anybody have a picture of it and describe what it is exactly.

It's like pinapply goodness! lol. It's basically pinapple ice cream, but it doesn't melt like ice cream, it melts like sorbet. It's very smooth and refreshing! My favorite is getting the float. You get the whip along w/ pinapple juice and it also comes w/ a cherry!

It's "soft serve". Not ice cream or fro yogurt. Just "soft serve".

If you want to know *exactly* I can point you to the list of ingredients, but not everyone wants to know what they are eating.

For what it's worth, many people like them (including my husband and son who cannot eat them thanks to the ingredients), but I (and some others) do not. Since I thought EVERYONE would love them, I was really disappointed in the taste, especially since we got a float AND a whip, thinking we would love them so much. Sigh. To me they taste like melted plastic.

I just get pineapple juice or a pineapple spear now at Disneyland, if I want the taste and refreshment.

Well even though it's soft serve, it doesn't even taste like soft serve. And like I said before, it doesn't melt like ice cream or soft serve bc it would be all creamy. But in a float, it just melts into the juice, so it's all good.

We love them!!! DBF gets the float and DD8 and I share a whip. DD12 doesn't like them. They are worth a try at least once, then you know for next time whether or not to get them.

I agree. The juice is too strong. Pineapple juice & Pineapple Dole Whip is a bit too "pineappley" for me. I say Dole Whip alone is great

They're not completely non-dairy as there is one milk product in them. They are however, lactose-free which is why I can enjoy them!

P.S. The milk product that is in a Dole Whip is sodium caseinate.

Doubling what wdwrich mentioned. If it's a lactose issue, people will likely be fine. But a true vegan won't want to eat them, and if it's a total dairy issue, that person won't want to eat them either.

Yikes, pineapple allergy! Scary. LOL, thankfully the dole whips have almost no pineapple at all, making them safer.

Oh good, glad I'm not the only one that had that reaction after drinking that juice!

Other flavors would be good, I bet they'd sell a lot more that way too. Since not everyone is a fan of pineapple. I can think of a lot of flavors that would be yummy.

We were in Hawaii in April and I had one at the Dole Pineapple Plantation there. I didn't expect much but I was surprised at how much I liked them. The best word I can think of is 'refreshing'. Well, at least the first 5-10 licks. Then, they got kind of sweet and heavy. DH finished mine but I did enjoy it.

If soft serve and sorbet had a baby, that is what the texture reminded me of.

I wish they put vanilla soft serve in it at disneyland as well! They do at disneyworld and I was a bit disapointed to see they didnt have that option at disneyland!

Have any of you made Dole Whip at home? I found this company in Hawaii that sells the mix. I believe it is the same mix Disneyland uses. I bought it and made it in my Cusinart ice cream maker and it tasted exactly the same. I have to get my Disney fix any way I can!
