I know I read somewhere about Dole whips and how great they were! What are they and where should I look for them when we go to WDW?

I know you can get them at the Polynesian in Captin Cook's. Besides that location they are also sold at the Magic Kingdom, however I the exact location where you can find them. Anyway it's a soft serve Ice Cream dessert and you can get them in the Pinapple flavour or in the Vanilla flavour.

It's pineapple soft-serve ice cream. Or you can get it made into a float with pineapple juice. Very good! I'm usually not much of a pineapple fan but love these.

You can get them at the MK across from the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (I hope I got the name right). In Adventureland.

Or, at Captain Cook's at the Poly - just the ice cream there, not the juice.

Omg I love the Dole whip float!!!! It's pineapple juice with pineapple ice cream and the dole whip is just the pineapple ice cream. I don't remember seeing them at WDW but they have them at Disneyland right by the Tiki Room. I was there last week and got one everyday! =] Maybe they are by the Tiki room in WDW too!

restarted computer - that was so weird, my computer did not want me to comment on the Dole whips!! :rotfl2:

Its in Adventureland - on the right hand side (after the bridge ) before you get to the Tree house, Tiki birds, magic carpets, jungle cruise... etc etc!!

The pic was when dh and I went w/o dd, and we took her panda and Stitch - its a nice treat to share, and it is 1 snack credit on the DDP!!

Thanks to reading these boards, I have to have one of these in November! They sound so good!

I too, will have to try one in August:) I love custard ice cream and usually get the chocolate cone there:)

Aloha Isle is the name of the stand that sells Dole Whip in Adventureland.

My family and I got lots of Dole whips last June when we stayed at the Polynesian. They are delcious and refreshing.

I am not sure if this done at the location in the Magic Kingdom, but at Captin Cook's you can get the Dole Whip yourself. So at least you could poor a little more then what the Cast Member would (if that's how it's at the Magic Kingdom), of course within reason so you don't make a mess of the area.

Be aware that the SMOKING section is located directly across from Aloha Aisle......I can't believe someone would put the smoking section next to a food stand. We noticed the same exact thing next to the McDonald's french fry stand too. The only place the smoking section was actually in a good place was in the very back of Toontown at the dead end. The only reason I even spotted it was because the train stopped near it. I would never have noticed it otherwise.
Anyway....just be aware that you may need to "walk and eat" your Dole Whip as we had to do because the smoke really smelled bad at Aloha Aisle when we visited last week.

I have to say I got a HUGE kick out of the angels singing in the background!!!! I do have to say, I think I also hear them when I eat them though LOL!!!:rotfl2:

I am one of the few...very few...but I didn't think the Dole Whips were anything special...GASP! I hope I didn't lose my DIS membership for saying this! After hearing about how wonderful they were I went in search of one in the MK, I found them and it was so-so...but maybe they forgot to sprinkle the pixie dust on it.

I agree. I don't get what the big deal is with Dole Whips and I loooooooooooooove pineapple.

Just a bit off topic; but you are right about the smoking sections being near food. I am a smoker and am always amazed that most of WDW smoking areas are near where people eat. Having smoking around me when I am eating makes me ill. I simply don't see the logic in these locations.
