Dole Whip-Yogurt Or Ice Cream?

Is the famous Dole Whip made out of frozen yogurt or ice cream? Same with the strawberry version is it frozen yogurt or ice cream? And does the strawbery version have a name too? Yum! Thanks

If you google "dole whip" you can find the wikipedia page.

Now that page has a list of ingredients, but if you look at the website they cite (precisionfoods.com), you can see the list is not correct. Go to their site, click Food Service, then Branded Solutions, click on Dole® Soft Serve, and Product Info.

From there click on one of the flavors to see the delicious scared: ) info that "Dole Soft Serve Mix is a nondairy dry mix that is reconstituted with tap water and frozen down in a soft serve machine."

I'll leave the list of ingredients on the site, b/c frankly I get grossed out seeing them!

It doesn't hurt that I absolutely hated the taste of the Dole Whip, so it doesn't pain me to see the ingredients. But I'm sure it makes others a bit sad. (makes my son sad b/c he can't have corn syrup solids, which premium foods shows it does indeed have)

I think they sell it at a little stand/kiosk between Pinocchio's Haus & the teacup ride in Magic Kingdom. Not as good as a Dole Whip imho.

Just so you know, Dole Whip is kind of like saying candy bar, very general. When you say Pineapple Dole Whip or Vanilla Dole Whip, that is like saying Snickers Candy Bar or Pay Day Candy Bar.

Personally, I found the Pineapple version (the only one I've had and this was at DL, so YMMV) was most like a very soft sherbet than anything else.

Ohh, I love Dole Whips! There are alot of odd chemicals but Im sure there are alot of things we would be horrified with if we saw the ingredients! Unfortunately alot, not all but alot, of packaged food has alot of chemicals. Im not going to sweat it. Its not like we eat Dole whips everyday! Although Orlando water is GROSS! I hate orlando water, Im more worried about that then some of the ingredients!

When I tasted I thought "hmm, melted, pineapple-flavored, plastic, what are the people on the Dis thinking?" Meanwhile DH and DS were loving the taste.

Then I went looking for the ingredients when we got home, b/c DS flipped out in the way he does when he eats corn syrup products. Lo and behold, there they were.

Some people don't have to worry about those things, these chemical ingredients, but for those of us who do, it's imperative that we not eat them. My son hates turning into a "dragon" as we put it, and the people around us certainly didn't appreciate his behaviour that started a few minutes after downing half of that dole whip!

The Dole Whip may be full of chemicals, but its not like you're having one every day of your life... I only have a few every other year.

It's dairy-free !!! I'm so glad. Next time we're at MK I can try a dole whip.

I dont care what is in them. I love them. Reminds me of pineapple sherbert we used to get in Jamaica when my mom took us there as children. I will have my dole whip chemicals and all. Yumm!!!
