I just wanted to say that I felt bad for all those poor people standing in line for a dole whip outside of the tiki room turnstyle today. When I walked by there were at least 20 people in line outside and only one person ordering from the inside of the Tiki room area. If only they knew that they could have waited in a shorter line. I guess I could have told some of them but I didn't want to give away our "secret". :)

I think people automatically assume that only those who are waiting to see the Tiki Room can order from there...which may or may not be true. However, the line there is a lot shorter, especially during summer when it gets really hot. Although DBF and I have bought Dole whips from the inside line before, I always feel a little bad about it since the CM at the entrance assumes that we are there for the show. DBF and I play it cool, sit there and enjoy our Dole whips and then leave when the CM isn't watching :rolleyes1

DD10 and I did this just the other day, on Sunday. ;)The outside line was pretty long and inside there were about 4 people in line. I will say that it still took about 15 mins. to get our dole whip, the CMs were not moving very quickly. They could have used one more CM in there. :thumbsup2

When we first arrived, the show had just started. By the time we got ours the next show was entering. We just sat on one of the benches inside and ate most of the whip. We left through the entrance without any issues. Sometimes I do feel a little bad for the CM standing there since they use the count on the turnstile to figure capacity. I'm pretty sure when we go out it reduces the number. :goodvibes:

BTW, if the line is really long, inside and out, DD knows we won't be getting one. We go alot with our AP so we are okay with it. We are going tomorrow to see DNephew in the re-premiere of CELEBRATE! We were lucky enough on Sunday to be on the Mark Train for the last Tiana show! :cloud9:

Idea: Fake like you're talking on your cell phone as you exit the tiki room waiting area with your dole whip. Say "Hold on! I'm coming right now!" really loudly, so the CM hears you and thinks that you have to go for a legit reason.

;)

Funny, but completely unnecessary. Just get your whip and head right back out those turnstiles with no guilt. People change their minds all the time about getting in and out of lines for attractions at DL, and to me, the Dole Whip stand IS the attraction in the Tiki Room waiting area. Mmmmm, can't wait to get me one next month! :cloud9:

:rotfl2: Maybe I'll do that next time! ;)

I have to agree with you that I get a lot more satisfaction from the Dole whip than watching the Tiki Room show :rotfl:

What happened to waiting until after the DCA work is completed before heading back to DLR? You only made it until February? You must be dangerously addicted. :)

My "family" isn't going back until after DCA is completed. The Divas twisted my arm and talked me into coming. I am certainly not looking forward to the construction walls and invevitible crowds, but I can't ditch my Divas!:lovestruc

And you're right, I am dangerously addicted! :cool2:

LOL I love those people! I love to walk right past them laughing. it may seem mean but its kind of a part of the disney experience for me. My trip is never complete without strolling happily pas those poor unfortunate souls. :lmao:

Yup, we always go inside and order, then we either go in and watch the show (we do enjoy it and the girls like it a lot) or we just smile at the CM and leave thru the turnstile. We've done that to use the restroom in there too, just walk in, use the restroom and leave. The CM's are never rude to us about it. Sometimes we go in just to see the Tiki's outside too, those Tiki's are too cool. :)

I did this once, because the regular line was heinously long and I was just tired of waiting in it all the time! I had planned on leaving after I got my whip, but I chickened out and just went to the show anyway. Good thing I like the Tiki Room.

You must have been laughing at me! The Australians in line behind me were mortified by the people, "cutting in line" on the other side. :confused3
Next time I will so the same, but I am always willing to wait for my Dole Whip!!!

The CM isn't going to grab you buy the hair and force you to see the show. Just get your DW and exit the area

You know, if you don't want to walk in and then out just go in like you're going to see the show but just walk out the exit on the other side. Seriously, no one will care.

Thursday there was one CM working and both lines had about 15 people waiting. Looks like you folks have outsmarted yourself.:rotfl:
