I was just reading a post on the resorts board and someone mentioned getting Tonga Toast and Dole Whip at Captain Cooks. I love Dole Whip - but didn't think they had it anywhere other than Aloha Aisle. Is it really at Poly too. Also - how does the Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks compare to the one at Kona?

Yes there are Dole Whips at the Poly. :cool1: It's self serve, so you can make them as big as you want.

Now I am extra glad I am staying at Poly :)

Can you get a float too or just the ice cream?

I think you can only get the soft serve at the Poly, not the float. At least that's how it was when I stayed there in December.

You can't make a float with pineapple juice, but you can do what we did: get a bottle of orange juice from the cooler and make a Dole Whip and OJ float. :goodvibes

It was my DH's  to try that, and we both liked it!

ohhh... Please expand on this!

I am assuming this is a location that one can walk in and just get the Dole Whip? Is it the same price as @ the park (in other words count as a snack credit?)

I'm thinking there is some seriously delicious brain freeze that's gonna happen on our trip if so!!

Where is Captain Cook's Located @ the Poly? I don't remember ever seeing it, but then I usually focus on Ohanas when I'm there. LOL

Captains Cooks is located on the first floor just turn left before the doors leading to the outside walkway leading to the different buildings and follow the inside path and you wil come to Capatain Cooks.

Captain Cook's is directly below 'Ohana, on the first floor. It can be accessed from inside the Great Ceremonial House, and also from outside. The Dole Whip machine there is self-serve (as already mentioned), and a snack credit can be used to purchase it. Enjoy :)

There is a machine that has vanilla ice cream and Dole whip. And the Tonga Toast is good (though I don't buy it there anymore, I make it at home).

Yep, dole whips have been at the Poly since November 2006. They originally only had pineapple flavor, but now they also have vanilla and pineapple/vanilla twist.

It's self serve, and the cups are bigger than at Aloha Isle!

yummm... I love the 'plain' Dole Whip, but I'm thinking the Pineapple/Vanilla twist sounds divine too!

Now to find a reason to be at the Poly besides the Dole Whip... (It's not on our plan anytime except once for breakfast at Ohana)

The Tonga Toast at Captains Cooks is as equally good as The Kona Cafe's. The only difference is how its served. At The Kona Cafe it's on a plate, and at Captain Cooks is on a "to go" plate, no frills. I've had it both places, and they both get a :thumbsup2 Tonga Toast is my favorite thing on property, and I've had it a million times - Yummy!!!!!:goodvibes
