One of my co-workers just got back from IOA/WWoHP. She, unfortunately, did not know about these boards, and didn't ask me for any advice.

They were unprepared and had a miserable time.

First of all, they were only there for one day, because co-workers DH is a major HP fan. They stayed at a Comfort Inn by the airport - not on-site (mistake #1).

Friend bought the 1-day Express Pass, and did not realize that it was not valid for Forbidden Journey (mistake #2).

Friend bought the Meal Deal, not realizing that it is only valid at 3 locations in IOA, and did NOT include Three Broomsticks, Butterbeer, or Pumpkin Juice (mistake #3).

When they went to turn in their vouchers and get tickets, friend was informed that, although she had bought the Meal Deal and Express Pass, she did NOT purchase park admission, and had to buy that separately at the gate (mistake #4).

Friend and her HP-fanatic husband went on Fobidden Journey, not realizing that it has motion sickeness effects, and afterwards, she spent the next 3 hours in the Universal infirmary (mistake #5).

Woe to the unprepared . . .

People need to pay more attention to what they are purchasing. Even without preplanning, many of those mistakes could have been avoided.

I have to say that the express issue is confusing though. Especially for things like HHN, where you can get the express pass, stay and scream...etc. At first I thought you had to buy HHN tickets, Stay and Scream pass and the express pass....now I realize just the S&S and Express pass is necessary since we'll have park admission that day LOL

So many different ticket options...and all are expensive so that's one mistake I can kind of see how she made. I wouldn't know about FJ either....well, I still don't. I get really sick on that ride at Disney though, Mission Space....so I better stay away from FJ too.

I can see the express pass/ticket goof up for someone that never researched because even with a lot of research it's all a little confusing.

The other stuff was just a sad side effect of stupidity. I think people jump into so many vacations, buying a house, car anything without reading into it enough to know what they really bought.
