We are a party of 6 adults who want to go to Tulum Ruins on our own if this at all possible. They Dis prices are pretty steep when you consider the size of our group. Any one done it on their own? What type of transportation did you use? Times? costs?
Also we will have 2 single twenty something girls with us any single twenty something guys on this cruise?

We all live in 3 different states and are trying to cooralate all our excursions. and stay on somwhat of a budget. We all snorkle.

Please help us

I have talked with many people about doing this--cruise veterans, travel professionals, and people who have lived in that area. I have received the unanimous opinion that this is one excursion that you really do not want to do on your own. Very, very difficult and fraught with potential problems.

i too would recommend that you do this through DCL. If the group runs late, then you are covered. If you try to do this on your own and you had any problems at all, you could be standing at the dock while the ship is already pulled out...not worth the risk IMHO.

This excursion includes a boat trip(of how long?) over to the mainland. That alone should insist you do it thru DCL, for the reasons stated above.

I do not suggest doing Tulum on your own. The main reason is that if you go on you own and get lost or have car problems, the ship will not wait for you. If you take the ships excursion and are late getting back, the ship will wait for you.

I was al Tulum about 10 yrs ago and would like to go back some day.
