does anyone have any advice on doing the christmas thing with the grandbrats?? is there any way to save money on the tickets? we are going dec 5 to the parade, fireworks etc (i forget what it's called) and i thought it wouldn't hurt to ask... aaa doesn't do discounts and its 36.95-29.95 for the youngsters.. thanks!! kathy k "femail"

I think you must be talking about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. MVMCP in most posts. If you click on the search link, then type MVMCP you should get a great deal of information about it. I don't ever remember hearing about a discount on these tix but I think you need to get them early because I've heard it can sell out. I've never been to it but have read it's great.

I think you can also go to the main page, (not the boards) www.wdwinfo.com and read about it.

Hope this helps a little.

"grandbrats"
I would feel terrible if that is what my mom called my kids but can't tell you the wrath my mil would feel if I ever heard her say that LOL

Ho, Ho, Ho, "Grandma"
(I wonder if you deserve that respectful name?) ...

Hope you get coal in your stocking
for that 'wonderful' display of Disney & Christmas Spirit!

EASY... Honestly, I didn't love the expression when I read it but thought it must be some kind of teasing little family pet name for them. Many a time I've lined up at toys r us with Playstation equipment, etc. and teased mine that he our "little brat" because we'd said only one game, but he'd not been able to decide between two so we'd bought both. He's so good about helping us always that we just spoil him when we can. Goodness, I buy things for the girls all the time that have these pretty dolls on them called "Bratz". I'm not insisting that you refer to your own children this way but if she does how is that someone else's place to judge. It's not abusive, obviously, she asked for advice on their Christmas in Disney World!!!!!!!!!! Bottom line is that she never asked for your opinion on her choice of family pet names, she ASKED advice about a particular budget related issue.

Am I falling for something that was set up to "start something"???

I will not buy "bratz" dolls because I hate the name- but you will see baby doll t-shirts in small sizes like 6x or 7 that say "brat", "princess", "angel"... I don't know how "brat" got in the same category as "angel". I think my daughter would like to have a brat shirt but she will NEVER get one as I beleive strongly in self-fulfilling prophecies.
Anyway- no judgements here- as long as you don't call them brat to their face. I call my kids ankle-biters which is also derogatory and incorrect as they have never bit anyone's ankle ever. It is just an expression.
Plus you are taking them to MVMCP- you can't be all bad.

Oh- by the way femail- I don't know about discounts but here is a tip for you to get more bang for your $-
The ticket will say 7:00pm on it but you can go as early as 4:00pm (I think) Save your park-hoppers for that day- plan a quiet morning and afternoon and then do MK from 4:00 to midnight. Also avoid Fri. & Sat. for MCMVP if at all possible because of crowds.
I went in 2000- it was really fun but I found it to be uncomfortably crowded.

My daughter actually brought home a puppy, which was an ankle biter! Oh my gosh, did that hurt, all the way up or down the stairs. Then my daughter promptly left for 4 yrs. of college, leaving us to break the dog of the awful habit! Where do dogs get ideas like that, that they have to chase you and bite your ankles everytime you take the stairs! Owwweeeee! For 6 months, we could always tell when someone was coming up or down the stairs, from the screaming and squealing we heard! Glad that's over! Daughter's home from college and taking care of her own Rowdy Dog!

I love the puppy story! My cats do that if the food bowl EVER gets below 1/4 of the way full. You wouldn't think cats could reason, but it seems like they panic when it gets low and snap at my ankles.

Princess, Spoiled Rotten, Diva, & yes Brat have become popular affectionate terms and I prefer those names to Pompus...

hi; sure am sorry for the attention that my post got; i hope i have the right reply hit here...
my "grandbrats" are the apple of my eyes.. there isn't a thing i would not do for them, and they me... and if you ask them who they are, they will pipe up right now with a big smile and tell you in no uncertain terms that they are, indeed, the Grand-brats!!

and i guess i will have to do with out the term grandma, they call me nee-na I spell it nina, it was supposed to be nana but kendall, the original and first grandbrat, couldn't say it so it changed to nina... i am as always at their disposal...

too bad that some people don't have more in life to do than find some thing to be upset about; my grand brats have never been hit or abused, either physically or emotionally, never treated un fairly, never given huge breaks for doing wrong either; but most of all, i try to teach tolerance... any one could see why, in this world, kids need that, don't you think??

thanks for the lovely email regarding mvmc; ( i have a hard time remembering that everything is shortened up)... we were to get on a plane monday for orlando but the situation isn't looking too great for anyone there so we may postpone...
and that i did not reply at once... i try to let my thoughts cohere sometimes when my mouth would overload...

I aree with femail it is a term of endearment after all my "little Noseminers "love their nickname.pirate: princess: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
