doing one night of a ressie w/cash

If I book a 3 night stay (2br, Sun-Wed) but I only have enough points for 2 of the nights and I need to pay cash for the 3rd night, is there a DVC discount off the usual room rate? And if I book it all thru DVC will it be considered as one reservation so no chance we'd have to switch rooms on that last night?

DVC discount is not always available. They may not have a cash night available, either, but you'd have a better chance of getting a non-discounted night. If you book that cash night through DVC, it will be just like you got it with points and added to your points reservation. That means you won't have to check out and check back in.

If you go through CRO, you will have to check out and check back in, and you may have to move.

So far we have booked twice through MS for a cash discount. Once for this April for two nights, not linked to a point stay. And we just booked our Dec trip with one cash night reservation linked to our point nights. I did have to wait a few days for the cash night to be available. I was booking 11 months out day by day and was told on the first day that there weren't any discounted cash nights showing, but three or four days later I asked again and it was available. Both times the discount was 25% of the regular cash price.
