Hi all!

We will be at AKL on 12/3. In an attempt to pack lightly I am thinking I may end up doing a little bit of laundry.

Does anyone recall the cost?

FYI - At target they sell tide (4 loads) for 1.00. I put it in a bag (so it wouldn't leak) and brought it with me. I also brought fabric softner sheets with me. It saved me alittle money.

The dryers are pretty weak. Every time we did laundry, we had to run our clothes through the dryer twice. You might want to budget for extra dryer money and time.

We brought our own travel sized Tide (Target sells it), dryer sheets, and Oxyclean in a ziplock bag. We even packed quarters in a 35 mm film canister, so we didn't have to worry about getting change.

We stayed ar CBR in August and it cost me $6.00 to do one load - $2 to wash and $2.00/for each dryer cycle - took 2 to completely dry. We brought our own detergent and dryer sheets from home.

We stayed at WL and CSR and it took forever to dry my clothes..I must of put too many in!!!

yes the dryers take a long time....especially if you hubby puts 2 washers of clothes in 1 dryer...lol

You have probably already caught on to this but I hadn't and we just got back. It is $2 to wash and $2 to dry. The cost of drying shocked me especially since I had read that it was taking two cycles. We only had a problem with our socks not being really dry but everything else came out fine on one cycle at Pop Century.

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips!

FYI (depending on where you're staying), Shades of Green has great dryers! My loads only took about 40 minutes. And it's very pleasant - they have a TV to watch, vending machines. I thought it was great. (They also had laundry detergent for about $1 per load, I think - if you're traveling light, that's one less thing to pack.)

My tip: don't try to wash jeans! If you have to do wash while you're there, bring shorts/light pants. Jeans take forever to dry at disney and cost losts to try to dry!

I never use the dryers. I try to pack clothes that dry quickly. I use the pull out clothesline in the washroom, and socks and undies go flat on the top shelf of the wire grid where the clothes are hanging. Things that don't dry overnight are hung on hangers, out of the way. Most of the laundry is dry by morning, however. Clothes will dry by themselves. Now, if I could figure out a way to get them to wash by themselves, I'd be all set. :earboy2: :confused3

Just got back from visiting during Thanksgiving week. Just a word of warning regarding the dryers: Everytime we do laundry at the hotels (any hotel) something ALWAYS shrinks. This time two of my twins' pants shrank. Yes, like everyone else mentioned the dryers take more than one cycle to dry and you may be tempted to put it on the hottest setting. DON'T! Your clothes will shrink. We had originally planned to do laundry twice but ended up not having enough time. I would plan to do laundry only once. Make sure you ask the hotel you're staying at if they have self serve facilities. We stayed 2 days at the Downtown Disney Hilton (which by the way was TERRIBLE!) and they didn't have any facilities. We had to drive down the street to their sister hotel, The Embassy Suites.
