I have my 2 oz bottles in my ziplock sandwich bag. Included are mini tubes of toothpaste, astringent, moisturizer, foundation.

Is it ok to have face powder and deodorant (solid) in a separate bag? They don't strike me as liquids or gels, but I don't want any drama. TIA!

I have never put this type stuff in a bag to take out at security and it has never been an issue. I use mineral make up and never put that in a bag to pull out.

Liquids & gels, hairspray is what we put in the ziploc bags-my husband doesn't even put his gel deoderant in a bag & has never had a problem. I LOVE just doing the carry-on thing-it's great!!!!

3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3.4 ounce bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3.4 oz. container size is a security measure.

Solid deodarant is OK and so is your powder make-up.

Thank you for the responses! I much prefer avoiding check in if possible, and since this is a short trip with just DD6 and I, I'd prefer to keep it quick and simple.

I have flown twice in the last week w/ carryons only and powder makeup was fine. Thanks to mineral makeup all my makeup can be carried on now.
I had no problem with solid deodorants as well.
