We are Disney fans going to California at the end of October 2008 - yay!

We spent 2 weeks in WDW last fall so are fairly up on the newest rides but keen to experience Disneyland again. My wife & I lived in LA a while ago so are familiar with DL but have never done CA. Our children, 10 & 5, are keen to see it all.

So a real simple question - to do it well do we need 3 or 4 nights?

My wife says 3 but I hae never been to Disney where I have had too much time and Im inclined for 4

We would though be able to be there fairly early on our first day

Help appreciated

Also - what are the key ADRs?

Is a park view at the Grand Californian worth paying for?

THANKS!!!pirate:

3 full days is enough to see all of both parks. 2 days for DL and 1 day to see all of DCA. But then again is enough ever enough? Go for 4! The only ADR you really are going to need is for Blue Bayou as well as a character breakfast/dinner. Since you are staying in GCH you probably want to do Storytellers cafe which I hear is good! :)

Thanks Sy

Note that you also are doing the San Diego/DL trip. Weve just booked that Marriott Coronado Resort for SD - looks nice fingers crossed!

Hope you have a good trip

Do 4 nights with 3 full days in the parks. You can always hang by the pool and do downtown disney if you need filler.

I'd vote for the 4 nights. That way you have 3 full days in the parks and maybe some partial days on either side depending on when you are planning to arrive/leave. The thing to remember is that Disneyland was built on top of some kind of space/time vortex and time goes by at least twice as fast as on the rest of the planet. ;)

I vote for four nights - you can take your time and repeat the things you really love. GCH park view is worth it if money is not a concern (very pricy!!). We're staying in a standard room in August and that's enough for us :thumbsup2

I would take a look at www.allears.net to see where you would like to eat and then make reservations at the TS places you want to go to. You do not necessarily have to, but I have passed by many sad looking faces at Carnation Cafe at both breakfast and lunch because they did not and we did!

And if you're there for the end of October, take a look and see what days the Mickey's Trick or Treat will be on - we'll be there too! Sounds like fun...

We did three on our first visit and then four on our second. We preferred the later so we could see fireworks, fantasmic, and the electical parade and then do any of them over again if we wanted to. Remember that sometimes they don't do fireworks if the wind is too strong. Allow for an extra day to just savor everything.

Three would be enough, but four would be more fun and relaxed.

Since it's been awhile since you've been there, you might want to read Hydroguy's Tips thread at the top of this forum; it's got great tips for all the current stuff, and how to avoid long lines. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

Have a great time planning!
