Hi everyone! Hope you're all getting prepped for your Thanksgiving and holiday season :-) I have a question if someone can help me out...

I am planning a trip to the World in August '14 (I know, a little far-off, but I am still very excited :cool1:). I've never been that time of year, and I'm worried about the heat. I know it gets VERY hot and humid then, and I want to know, is it bearable or intolerable?? I've been during the last week in June before, but never that late in the summer. It'll be me and DBF, so no kids. Any tips on how to beat the heat or strategies to stay cool/not irritated by weather would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much!!

It's definitely bearable -we've been 3 times during mid/late August and had a great time. The biggest keys for us are arrive early and bring water with you to the parks. We would usually arrive at opening, go till around 1PM then head back to the resort for a few hours and head back in the evening.

That's exactly our strategy too! We' do not prefer this time of year, but several times, that's when we went.

Go early. Head back to rest, swim or both. Then go back to the parks for dinner and evening fun.
We always went from on air conditioned attraction to the nest, ducked into shops to cool off and drank TONS of water.

Yes- it's HOT. But it's much more fun to be hot at WDW than at home. :thumbsup2

We love the late summer because it isn't as crowded. We just stay on property and usually take swim breaks back at the hotel from lunch til at least 2. Sometimes we nap a bit too. This refresher and break from the crowd helps ease the heat.

Thank you guys so much :thumbsup2 I appreciate all the tips! These were all things I was kinda thinking about, but wasn't sure if they would work. It makes me feel much better knowing you guys have done them and they *do* work! I can't wait for my trip!!
