I just have to share. We have been avid WDW vacationers since 2004 every year. Well finally this year on a land/sea trip we became DVC members, after a lot of debating the last 3 years.
As soon as we closed, we booked a mini-grand gathering for spring break at SSR. We are taking my 2 DN, nephew, and BIL (who have never been) and my DSIL who has not been in over 20 year. When we went on our 1st trip we talked about how we would love to share the Disney Magic with our neices and nephew but knew that they would be really hard pressed to take a trip for 5 even at value rates. NOW fast forward and here we are about a month away. We are using the DPs that were incentive for buying AK-KV and that trip is done.
Well, this morning I opened my happy llittle email and there was a confirmation from MS for AK-KV for fall break. I had just put in an inquiry on Thurday night to see if any Studios (just me & DH) would be open the weekend of our fall break and sure enough, we got our 1st request! October will be our 1st offical trip "HOME".
We have enough points this year to also do a cruise at the beginning of Summer Break but DH is not so sure he wants to do 3 trips in a year given the state of the economy. AND as much as I hate it I have to say I agree that we are unsure about our expendable income, BUT (whining)
I wanna go on the Mickey cruise again. We may try to do a weekend the end of May at HHI because it is about 6 hours away and would be easier and maybe a little cheaper than going all the way to WDW or on the cruise. We will see what happens. But for now I am doing the happy dance that we are going to have 2 Disney trips this year, both with great first.
PS- Can you tell that I am a teacher? Spring Break, Fall Break, before Summer School starts, before professional development in July & August? This is the way we plan life. So many people say well you get three months off each summer. Little do they know that it is really about 2 weeks after all of the commitments. Oh well, I wouldn't do anything else.
