Oh, yeah! :thumbsup2

Funny, I had received a PM a few days ago from a familiar Username, who had asked if we were Loew's Platinum yet. Well, in fact, we were not. We always booked at APH rates, and despite my slipping my LF # on the ressie, the RPR check-in folks would never take my card to enter my # in the system when we checked in (I was always politely told that our rate didn't qualify). Then I also realized that I had been entering my number incorrectly on our online ressies, leaving out a pesky "0" in the middle. Duh. :guilty:

So, over the weekend, what does appear in the mail at La Casa Del Jodie & Mike but the coveted Platinum card, telling us we were now in the exclusive club! :smooth:

Too bad we will hardly ever use the privileges. It's more important to us to have club level than it is to have a suite, but it sure does feel good to finally have that card! :)

Having that card is wonderful. We got an amazing upgrade at the Loews Santa Monica to a beautiful corner suite on the top floor that overlooked the ocean and pier that had cathedral ceilings and a double bedded room attached for the kids. It was amazing.

We also got an incredible deal at Loews Vogue in Montreal. All because of the platinum card.

Woo Hoo Jodie! Congrats! :yay:

Platinum here too and have never used it at Universal. But like Damo said it sure does come in handy at their other properties.

woo-hoo congrats!

I think I should be gold now. I just stayed 8 nughts. I think I should check and make sure. :hippie:

I didn't know I was familiar! Congrats again!

Of course you are! I tend to remember posters from the board better than I do what day of the week it is (of course, working shifted tours will do that to you!). :)

Damo's right. We have received suites at Don Cesar in St. Pete and in August we are getting a St. Moritz Suite at Loew's South Beach.

Platinum works wonders at the other Loew's Hotels. Philadelphia twice for New Year's and both times got upgraded to a suite w/great view of Penn's Landing fireworks. This past year I was even able to get 2 adjoining rooms at the last minute when we decided to go. Wash. Redskins were also sharing the hotel for playoffs and 3 weddings were going on......three cheers for platinum!!! We're now headed to Loew's in South Beach, again with last minute ressies. We got upgraded to oceanfront jr. suite and also secured a 2nd standard cityview dbl. for the rest of our group. And Miami Heat won last night....could be an interesting weekend in Miami! It seems like when you use the platinum other places beside US things go a lot smoother. We will miss RPR this yr. though....have been there the last 3 summers and kinda got spoiled.

Miami Police are meeting this afternoon to determine a parade route for either Thurs. or Fri. afternoon. The Ft Lauderdale Mayor is going to throw a boat parade. It should be a good weekend to be on South Beach!

And yet another reason to go with a hotel I trust! Looks like we'll be getting more excitement than we bargained for, celebrity-wise and all, plus all the party atmosphere more than usual. Glad we opted for Loew's...a nice quiet room if we need to regroup. lol wonder if my platinum status would still work if I called there today and tried to make a ressie! :hourglass

The parade is tomorrow at 2 on Biscayne. The party tomorrow night is at the Mansion on SoBe.

Just wanted to add my first Platinum experience at Loews Phila. We (DSis, DNeph and I - going to see Lion King) had a king suite reservation at std price. When we checked in, they told me 'sorry, no suites left' and I thought 'great, that's how this works!' - BUT then she tells me that manager is offering me either large corner room that they can put a cot in, or 2 connecting rooms - at same price!! :thumbsup2 Of course we took the 2 rooms (2 showers for the AM!) - then she upgrades us to CL - makes a big fuss over DNeph and gets him a welcome gift - and offers a 2nd amenity for the 2nd room - wine and milk/cookies were delivered within about 15 mins of getting to the room. Beautiful hotel - great night's sleep - cool view of William Penn - The Lion King was AWESOME !!! Hope they're this good to me in CA next month - I'm looking for reasons to stay at Loews hotels now ;) ! Looks like all my trips to HRH/RPR/PBH (and getting rooms for friends and family) have some additional benefit! :smooth:

congrats, i am still on first after trip, i had a Travel agency booking from the UK but i gave my card to the receptionist but she never said i did not qualify so heres hoping

For you Philly guys check out this on Ebay:

Wish that was good until New Year's! Lucky for us though, we had already decided to do an August trip to Washington D.C. and lo and behold, 3 days later I got a Loew's postcard advertising the old Madison hotel there is now a Loew's property.......gee, wonder what kind of platinum upgrade we'll get there?!! And the Summer Fest rates/perks will still be going strong. Next summer we're hoping to try the Don Caesar in St. Pete......or maybe the Santa Monica one......my, my sooooooo many choices! I agree with the other posters here. The Loew's platinum holders definitely get the perks at their other hotels! And it's nice not have to plead and beg to get them!!!

Hey guess what ? yes i got a gold card in the post yesterday so can look forward to platinium next year as we are staying for 3 weeks.
Hoping to use it in 2008 when we are going to Miami.
what way does the platinium work, do you have to book any particular room to get an upgrade to which type of room

In Miami with Plat. you'll get upgraded to a Jr. Suite in the Tower with ocean views or a St. Moritz Suite with partial ocean views. Service in Miami is way above that in Orlando.
