Post your D'oh moments. The moments where you want to slap your forehead and say "I shoulda known that!".

----------------

I JUST realized I broke my femur. During surgery, putting the metal rod in, my femur had cracked. The doctor had placed a band around my femur to close it so it will grow back together. It was cracked and I couldn't wait bear for 6 weeks. DUHHHHH!! (Oh, and it's been about 9 months since my surgery)

Watching Sky Sports News, the Italy Football Team fired their last coach. It took me listening to the report and reading the quotes on the screen to find out "OHH they fired him?!". DUHHH!

I locked my car in the garage. That is SUCH a ditzy thing to do.

Um, someone told me the other day that palm trees are not native to Arizona...in which I thought they were...another DUH..

Okay, so I was messing with my Itunes today. All of a sudden, my playlist goes out of whack. The songs aren't in order, won't move, and the undo button wasn't working. I was f-r-e-a-k-i-n-g freaking out.

Problem? Shuffle was on.

I was talking to my friend on my cell phone and something came up about texting or calling someone else so I was looking everywhere for my phone, still talking to my friend. Took me a couple of minutes to realize I was holding it.

a rubber band fell of this thing that is re setting my jaw
and it held a metal thing in place
3 weeks lator
I swallow the metal thing
shudah just gone in to fix it:headache:

I was at school and was in Health class. i guesss that day we had a substitute and she had brought in Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? It was my turn up to answer a question for my team. The Question was.. " What Does It Mean If You Are Wearing You Birthday Suit? " ( It Means Being Naked ) I said " You are dressed in nice clothes " Everyone started laughing. i was like " What? I dont know! " Then i was like OMG i couldnt believe i thought it was that! I so knew that! :POP

I do the phone thing all the time. Also, this isn't really a duh thing but it is a dumb thing. When I am driving, I will pull out somewhere and then think, "Did I look both ways before I pulled out? Did I even look at all?" Those things are very scary but then I think back and finally remember looking.

I do that while driving. When I pass a red light I think "was that red? did I just run a red light?" But then I look in my mirror and see that someone's still driving behind me.

In math in 10th grade we were playing Deal or No Deal and instead of winning a million dollars the highest thing was like 3 points on your quarter average. So I was being the banker and I was going to write down an offer on the overhead and it was like 1 quarter point and I started spelling quarter with a C.

And sometimes I spell cute with a Q. Just did it now actually.

EDIT: Just remembered something else.

My friend was wearing a Colorado sweatshirt and I read it and was like "What's Color-a-do?" and like 10 minutes later I was like OHHHH Colorado!

Me and my family were driving somewhere.
My sister see's a house and is like 'I want that house!'
My brother goes 'Yeah then Me, You and Kara could live in it!'
Then I said 'Could you imagine we all have to live together ?'
I was like dead serious.
:rotfl:

I didn't get it til 5 minutes later and my sister was like, Uhhh ?
And I was like OH we already live together !!

haha okay so in biology there's a skeleton on the wall.

soo here's the resulting conversation between me and the kidding sitting next to me.

Kid: Look, there's a cat skeleton on the wall.
me: that can't be a cat stupid! it has a tail.

haha i pretty much blushed the rest of the class for saying that one.

Ahhh, I do that all the time. I'll see a word printed somewhere, a billboard or a sign or something, and instead of reading it all at once, read it in chunks so that it makes no sense. Or it sounds like two completely different words that don't mean anything next to each other. :faint:

And this happened when I was shelving books the other day-- I was going through the non-fiction section, sticking books where they went, and saw a book with ANIMALS of the SAVANNAH on the spine. After a minute or two of wondering what sort of animals native to Georgia were interesting enough to warrant a book that size, it hit me. :X

I did a bunch of really stupid things at work yesterday.
I was getting tired and I was putting the food away before I weighed and punched it in...
The supervisor was kind of getting frustrated with me because I had a long line up and she didn't want to open another cash.

ha ha. smooth. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Me too. I also have a habit of mixing up letters in words. Like the other day, I said "candihapped" instead of "handicapped".
Or I'll be thinking one word but want to say another, and they end up mushed up. Like I was thinking "horrendous" and "envious" and it came out "horrenvious".

Argh, yes! I do that all the time! Not so much out loud anymore, though, as that was one of the reasons I tried to start talking less, but *all* the time in my head. ::yes::

Okay, it wasnt me, but these are still really funny (or at least i thot they were)

D'oh Moment 1
Setting: my class was sitting in history class and we had time to work on one of our reports.
Kaylie: When was the war of 1812?
Me: 1936
Kaylie: thanks

D'oh Moment 2
Setting: again, in history class. We were working on worksheets about the civil war era. Kaylie was looking up all of the people in the index of our textbook.
Kaylie: I cant find Blanche k. bruce!!!
Me: are you spelling it right?
Kaylie: yeah
Me: Are you sure?
Kaylie: yeah. I'm just lookin up Bruce. And how would anybody actually mispell it? B-r-u-s-e!!!
Me: ....

At work today, I was freaking out, they moved the defribulator (sp?) box, and there was a new sign on the window (so it was a new one) and I NEEDED to find that.

I dont know about the rest of you, but I like knowing where safety equipt. is in case of an emergancy.

So i was looking and looking and looking, and my friend saw me having a mini meltdown ( i dont know how she knows those things) and said "is this what youre looking for?" and it was literally right where my "desk" is xD

I did the EXACT same thing.

I was talking to my mom on my cell one day during lunch. In the middle of the conversation my mom asks me how much longer I have, so naturally I go looking for myself to see the time. I actually take everything out of my bag searching for it! Then I mumble to myself "where in the heck did my phone go!?" and my mom starts hysterically laughing. Why? Because I had the phone in my hand.

D'OH!

One more thing. At work, I'm like totally clueless. I almost ALWAYS forget to clock in. So eventually they made this red sign right next to my register 'Jenn, clock in/out!'

I have the D'OH moment when I'll get there, put all my stuff away and get to work. I'll be like 15-20 minutes into doing something and then my stomach will sink and I'll slap myself in the head. I forgot to clock in, I'm working for FREE! AGH.

And one day after work I went shopping in the store for some sandals. I was in there like 20 minutes shopping and had even gotten to the register to check out before remembering I was still technically on the clock.

Thank goodness I make up for all the blondeness by being pretty good at my job.
