Hi, am in the middle of packing and the cases seem to be growing heavier, despite my attempt at "packing less this year!"

Anyways, am flying Continental (booked through them) and we are allowed 2 x 23kg each. We have a codeshare flight on way home with Virgin - have done this before, but can't remember, on the way home, does the Continental baggage allowance still apply or the Virgin one. Am trying to keep it down to 3 bags for the 3 of us, but just in case we need another bag on the way home.

Someone remind me please!

Sorry i'm not sure of the correct answer but it should shown on your eticket receipt somewhere. It's best to check it against your exact booking as there been alot over baggage changes over the last year.

In the past the policy has always been that your connection will honour the allowance from the major flight provided that it has been booked as a connection (i.e. the two are linked on your booking) and not as a separate flight. Last year we dipped out on our connection because Thomas Cook booked our connecting flight as a separate flight. By the time I saw this there was nothing they could do about it as it was non refundable.

As Clayre said, so many changes in the last year that you will want to check with your booking agent and/or on your eticket as nothing is a given anymore and there are differences in the policies between airlines now.
