Dogs maul and kill 7 yr old

I can't even imagine. Poor baby. Of course the dogs have never before acted this way.

Actually, the article says that one of the dogs has previously shown aggressive tendencies.

I thought for sure the post would say poodles did it-imagine my shock when it read pitbulls!

Poor, poor boy. Must have been absolutely terrifying.

However a neighbor, Billie Lindstrom, told NBC that her family had "never had any trouble with the dogs."

Most times when pits kill somebody, they say "He was just the sweetest thing in the world."

That poor little boy :sad1: Of course, I predict that before this thread gets to page 2 the pit bull defenders will come to post about why it wasn't the dogs' fault.

I have a rough collie sweet thieving girl that she is I never left her alone with my sisters kids when they where little NEVER. Small children should not be left with a dog alone no matter what breed it is.

Oh my God, that just makes me sick at my stomach. There are many breeds of dogs I am wary of, of course pit bulls being one of them. One time at the lake we were going to beach in a public area to swim and someone had their pit bull out roaming around. I told my dad he might as well just back it up and go on because I was NOT letting my kids out of the boat with that dog around. I don't care how sweet they are, you just NEVER know when they'll turn.

And before anyone starts flaming me for the pit bull dislike, I won't even take my 8 lb. mutt around kids we don't know! She can be a little grump when she wants to. Just NOT worth the risk of her nipping some kid.

I think it say A LOT when it's pit bulls most of the time who were otherwise, "the sweetest thing in the world."

What a horrible way to die--poor girl :sad2:

That is just horrible. :sad2: I would never own a pit bull. No one I know owns one, thankfully.

I think all dogs, no matter what breed, should be on leashes unless in their owner's home.

Oh that's just heartbreaking! That poor child, that poor Mom. :(

There was a 4 year old girl that was just mauled to death by a bull dog a couple miles from my MIL house. It just happened a couple days ago. :sad2:

The dog was tied up, but slipped out of it's collar and attacked her while she was playing in the backyard. There were supposedly no witnesses.

That is very unusual for a bulldog. Do you know what kind - English bulldog, French bulldog, American bulldog? That's really unheard of, they're not violent dogs.
