Help! Just as we are getting ready to go to US for a few days- our dog sitter has decided that she can not watch our beautiful 6 mo Maltese. I was wondering if anyone has used the kennels at US ? OR Seaworld also has a kennel. I know that RP will allow dogs in the hotel- but I have never seen any before- we have stayed at the HRH several times and wanted to try the RP? Please we are at a lost on what to do... I hate to put our little guy in a box at some kennel for 10 days back home- so we could bring him with us ( we are driving to FL) - anyone? thanks
:wave:

Hi - Sorry about your dogsitter canceling. I have seen lots of dogs at RPR - are you staying there? It is very dog friendly and you can also pay a fee to have someone come and walk him while you are gone. I would do this personally - why put him in a kennel? If we didn't have to fly, I would definately bring my little dog - he would have a blast!! Let us know what you decide.

Good luck and I hope it works out. We have three dogs and luckily I have family nearby to watch them when I leave. We always have to do shorter trips though, four or five days because we can't leave them for long or they stress badly.

Sounds like us Prince Eric - we have family come and stay at our house with our two dogs and two cats while we are away, but they still stress!! I could never kennel them for five or six nights!

By the way, where does Prince Eric come from? Is it the Little Mermaid? My dd loves that movie.

Yes, when I first discovered the Disboards on the Disney side I wanted a screen name that I would easily remember. Since my first name is Eric, it was a natural fit. (besides my two daughters loving the Little Mermaid then and watching it every day).

And here I thought you were royalty!!!!! LOL....:p

I wonder if PrinceEric1 will become TheDISerFormerlyKnownAsPrinceEric1. :)

I've never used the kennels at US or SeaWorld. However, my cat (AllieKat, hence my user name) stayed at HRH with me last year. Yes, my cat...everyone thinks I'm crazy, but when I go on vacation, she comes with me.

I thought that I'd have to kennel her while I was away from the room but the hotel staff said that wasn't necessary. They gave me a little door hanger sign that said something about a pet being in the room. I could've put the door hanger on the outside of the door when I was away from the room so that no one entered the room while Allie was in there by herself. However, what worked out great for me was putting Allie in the bathroom whenever I was gone and putting the door hanger on the bathroom door instead. I just made sure to put the used towels in the room (instead of leaving them in the bathroom) so that they could be replaced with clean ones.

I'm going to be staying at HRH again at the end of April and I'm of course planning on bringing Allie with me. My Mom will also be on this trip and she's planning on brining her Pug, Jasmine. Jasmine uses those "wee wee pads" so Mom is planning on putting Jasmine in the bathroom with her food, water & a pad. We never stay at the parks all day long. We usually go for 3 or 4 hours, then come back to the room, freshen up and go do other things for 3 or 4 more hours so we'll be in our rooms several times throughout the day to check on the pets.

Anyway, sorry, I didn't mean to write a novel. :o Hope this info helps a little.

But you'll have to refer to me as %*&^#$@

LOL!!!! I love it.

Or we could change it to "Ariel's X"

I have a very similar proplem. Our Maltese will be 7 months old for our next visit and we were trying to find a hotel with suites where we can leave our puppy in her crate while we are gone. We made reservations at La Quinta in Lake Buena Vista. They ask you to leave a phone number incase the dog is barking too much while you are gone. So, we'll give them a try and hope for the best.

AllieKat...what hotel is HRH?
TigerLilly's Mom...what hotel is RPR?

We visit WDW often and from now on will be traveling with our Maltese. I want to make notes on what hotel's are pet-friendly.
Thanks!

HRH=Hard Rock Hotel
RPR=Royal Pacific Resort
PBH=Portofino Bay Hotel
