This may sound like a stupid question, but can you take a doggy bag when on the dining plan? We have ADRs at CRT, Hollywood and Vine, Akershus, and Garden Grill. I'm not a HUGE eater, and I know portions tend to be big, so will I be able to take the rest in a doggy bag back to the resort with me? Anyone ever do this?

The answer will be no at Garden Grill because it is all you can eat, and Hollywood & Vine because it is a buffet.

Can't tell about CRT or Akershus. Akershus is part buffet so it may be "no" there as well.

we were on the ddp last year and ate at sci-fi, we took our food back to the hotel. i don't about any other restuarants though

Not only could I take my leftovers from Akershus (my fav Epcot eatery) but my server got me a "to go cup" for my adult beverage! If are at a buffet that is all you can eat, they may not be up for it but it's not like you are taking the bag to the line and filling it, you are just eating your leftovers later.

I always have my dinner leftovers (Jiko/Artist Point/etc) for breakfast the next day.

My family has been able to take left overs to go from any of the sit down restaurants, except at the buffets and any of the "call-you-care-to-eat" type menu options. So I would guess that you'll be okay at CRT (except Breakfast, which I think is all-you-care-to-eat). For the Akerhaus, I would doubt you could doggy bag anything from the buffet, but they might be able to for the single-serving entree.

I had the skillet (for lunch) at WCC. We were OOP. I asked for more ribs, and probably phrased it wrong...I asked for a few more ribs. I had hoped to get 3 maybe 4 more bones. Instead they brought out 3 more of their mini slabs (about 4 bones per slab). I was sooo embarrassed.

Anyway, they did ask me if I wanted the rest boxed up. We had no fridge, so I had to decline. :sad1:

Last year we had a late breakfast at CRT. My dd asked for more croissants so they brought out another platter of them and a second platter of pastries. We couldn't eat them all so they brought us a to go box without us asking. And at WCC we ordered the skillet & dd again thought the corn on the cob was so good they brought her several more ears of corn to take and said we could take all the food on the table if we wanted & it was a lot of food!! We didn't tho cause it was just too much.

We also took a doggy bag for my granddaughter's dinner & Le Cellier once. The server also brought us a few pretzel bread sticks to take also. We were headed back to the resort & on the way out of the park we stopped to take some more pics & wouldn't you know it, my granddaughter who was carrying the bag left it on a bench.

The biggest problem with taking food to go is that unless you're going straight back to your resort, your leftovers will not be refridgerated in a timely manner. If you're talking about food that won't spoil then yes you can (other than buffets). Technically you can get food that will spoil to go as well but you also need to consider whether or not you should. Food poisoning is sure to ruin a vacation.

At buffets I don't think they ever bring containers to pack up your food to go. All you can eat restaurants where the food is brought to you are treated differently, I suspect because the servers can typically tell the difference between asking for food for the sole purpose of getting food to go and asking for more food and being surprised that so much was brought out so they figure you might as well take it to go rather than see it get thrown away. At buffets there would be a LOT of abuse if they made it easy to take extras to go.

I've gotten pretzel bread to go from Le Cellier before, but other than that we always manage to eat everything on our plates. XD
