Okay, we'll be in Disney next week, so there isn't time to order anything. Dh and I thought we'd be able to find something for ID for the kids, but we couldn't find anything. We were going to do labels in the shirt collar, but I heard that CMs aren't allowed to check children's clothing. I thought dog tags might work. The kids could either wear them or we could attach them to their shoes. Does anyone know where you can get dog tags made at Disney? Would we be able to put our phone numbers on the tag? How much?
Thank you!

Also any other last minute ID ideas would be appreciated! :)

In a pinch, I took one of those paper luggage tags that airports have at the check in counter and wrote our names and cell phones on it and tied it to her shoe. Not so it drag but so it sat on top of her shoelaces.

wallmart kmart in the pet section they sometims have a machine to engrave doggie tags, put kids name and your cell on it, then attatch to shoelace.
cost:$6,$7.........peace of mind......$PRICELESS !! LOL :grouphug:

If you have a Wallmart nearby they usully have a machine that makes tags. You can then just punch a hole in it and attach it via the shoelace. Another option is to do it yourself with the self laminating paper you can find at Office Depot or Staples. Print up a few tags, laminate them and punch a hole for the shoelace and your done.

We were there a few weeks ago and yes, there is a place to get them in Disney. There is a pet store (Pet Tails I think is the name) at Downtown Disney and in the corner of the store, they have a machine that makes the tags for you. You could get a pet type collar tag or dog tags with a chain. I think they had a couple of version of the dog tags, I think Stitch was one.

We got a collar tag for my dog so I didn't pay that much attention to the others they had, but they definitely had ones the kids could wear on a chain.

I think they were $8-$10 depending on what you wanted.

Have a great trip!

For two trips we have just used the small plastic keychains that you can get at any discount store. They are plastic (all different colors) and have a piece of paper you can remove and write on. They come in packs of 3. I write (If I'm lost, please see other side). Then, on the other side (so it isn't visible) I write our cell numbers and even grandma's number (she knows our hotel room). I use a sharpie so that it doesn't bleed if it gets wet. I then slip it on DD shoe lace. It never seems to bother her and is easily accessible and visible if she were lost. Lots of folks noticed and made comments. I also liked it becuase our personal information wasn't easily visible to others.

If you do go with the dog tag id (also a great one), there is a disney machine also located at the Fire Department to the left when you enter the Magic Kingdom.

For those that don't have (take along) cell phones, what contact info do you put on your childs i.d.?

They have a machine in Ak in the store after Dinosuar.

MCO has one in the US store with caracters on them as well.

I know they have them in the other parks just not sure where .

But the make a great souvie as well we put DD's name and our cell numbers on them when we did get them for her.

Before cell phones we would put my moms number on it they would call her so w could check-in if anything happened.Never needed it but might work if someone is availible .If you have an answering machine at home that you can remote check off a payphone that would work as well.

I suggest you might get a throw-away (Prepaid) just for the trip. You can get them real cheap and put a small amount on it just to accept incoming calls.

We bought a dog tag from a machine at MGM Studios...it was in a gift shop near the Stunt Show Stage. $10 or $11, there were several designs to choose from. We bought a dog bone shape with Pluto on it for our dog, but then our daughter wanted to wear it (for a couple bucks more you could buy a chain for it from the same machine). I think they had heart shaped tags too. I know I saw those machines on other parks too.
