Greetings all!
My wife and I are renting an RV and heading up to Ft. Wilderness CG at the end of May. We are going to be bringing our two greyhounds, Jackpot and Tahoe. Are any of the dog walks fenced in so we can let them off of their leases to run around a bit?

We may even be bringing one of our cats who doesnt mind being on a harness and leash, so if you see the couple walking their white cat feel free to say hello!

We have been to Disney many times with our greyhound. Disney has pavements all around the campground, so it is easy to walk a greyhound (as opposed to the gravel that hurts their feet). The campground does have an enclosed dog run. We have never used it, but it looks fine for a greyhound. And, just in case you need it-we also used the kennel one time-everyone was very nice.

Welcome to the Dis.

We have used the dog park and it is very nice. I normally say watch out for unsocial dogs, but I think your dogs can handle the ankle biters.;)

The dog park has plenty of room for your dogs to stretch their legs - although your Greyhounds will probably get from one end to the other in about 4 seconds. :goodvibes

It's a nice, grassy area, securely fenced, with a double gate at the entry, watering stations, benches and a picnic table or 2. Not a ton of shade, but there is one little area.

Agree with PP to watch out for other dogs that probably shouldn't be there. We used the dog park every day the first 3 weeks of Dec and didn't really run into any trouble. Just one kind of goofy dog that was more of a pest than anything. And yeah, it was mostly small dogs, although we also saw Collies, Rotties, Shepherds, Aussies, lots of Goldens and the biggest "Wolfhound" type dog I've ever seen in my life!

I would recommend checking out who's there for a few minutes before you let your dogs in so you can see what the dogs are like and if they're owners are on the ball or not (no pun intended LOL)

Have fun!!

Although I'm not much of a fan of dog parks due to a couple bad experiences at ours, we did take both our dogs to this one. A couple times we were the only ones using it and the rest of the time we kept them on their leashes until we saw how the other dogs were. Our golden mix usually doesn't bother much with other dogs and loves the people. Our Aussie/Border Collie mix is very shy and just likes to run with our Golden, but they did do a little social interacting while there. It's a nice area and gives them some much needed exercise.

There was a greyhound in the dog run this week. He was having great fun running and playing. He was so fast and no other dogs could get near his pace. He was very happy running at full speed in the dog park. I'm sure your two dogs will have a great time in there too.

Too cute, I don't think I have ever seen a kitty on a leash.

Your greyhounds are gonna love the dog park at the Fort. It is completly fenced in and has two gates to enter the park, just incase your pooch runs out of one. Their is also two doggy water fountians and a nice shaded area with two picnic tables for the humans to hang at while the pooches play.
My two BT's just used it for the first time this week as the Fort was pretty empty and it was the first time the dog park was empty as well. ;)

Excellent, Thank you for the replies! They are already looking forward to their vacation, hehe. Now I just have to find 2 dog sized pairs of mouse ears and one cat sized pair of mouse ears. :cool1:
