Dog at resort. Did I do the right thing?

All I am saying is before I would complain about a dog in the next room I would make sure there was one! I don't fault someone for complaining but at the point the OP complained all she knew for sure was there WASN'T a dog in the next room. I don't like to complain unless I am sure there is a problem.

She knew there had been a dog in the room. She saw it walk out of the room. Maybe it was in there for five minutes, or maybe for five days. But reporting it hurt no one (unless it inconvenienced someone who was blatantly breaking the rules, and if so, who cares about them? ) and might have helped someone to the point of saving their vacation. What's to disagree with?

I If the family arrived late, the dog could have stayed in the car all night. That's what my dog did once when we arrived too late to board her for the evening. And I spent a lot of the night with her in the van.

People have allergies to birds, too. I didn't think about that at the time...

I"m allergic to down and feathers, which is one of the reasons the Swan and Dolphin with their (for me not so) Heavenly Beds are out of the question.

Entering a room where a bird had been living for a few days prior could have serious health implications for me!

Is it? Good. Not because of Deb & Bill, who obviously tried to make sure their dog was safe and comfortable, but for those nitwits who think it's okay to leave a dog in the car while you shop for hours in the heat of the day.
