We have less than 24 hrs until we leave for the World and my DD was up all night last night with what we first thought was just a head cold, due to the green you know what that started coming out of her nose around dinner time last night. We brought her to the Drs. today to make sure it wasn't an ear infection and guess what............. it's an ear infection. The Dr. gave us Erytrhromiacyn (sp?) to give her and she's taken her first dose today, but she's feeling miserable and she's only 19 months old so she can't express herself any other way than crying ALL DAY LONG!
Please send all the pixie dust you can so that maybe my DD will be feeling better tomorrow. This should be one fun plane ride. The Dr. said if puss comes out of her ear on the plane it's fine, but it sounds painful to me. I just want her to feel better!

Thanks!!

Awwww, poor baby. Kids are so resilient. I bet she will be a LOT better n the AM. Hope you guys enjoy the trip, I know you will. ::MickeyMo :hyper: ::MinnieMo

Let's add insult to injury shall we, I just put her to bed and she wasn't happy with me so she was crying. I decided I would let her cry it out for a few minutes to see if she would fall asleep. As I was downstairs trying to finish a few last minute things I heard a loud thud. Yep, you guessed it. She just learned how to climb out of the crib. As I ran upstairs to open her door I was greeted by her on the other end trying to open her door too. This just keeps getting better!!!

Aww hope your little one gets better real fast. The night before our trip once one of the ds was running a high fever. My dear mom kept telling me to cancel. I said no way, we are going! This was a trip she desperately needed after my sister died. I loaded him up with tylenol and away we went. O.K. he did throw up on the plane, dear mom gave him yougurt while I was napping I think. He hates yogurt and was probably allergic to it anyway. Remember if she gets really sick while you are there you can go to centra care or even have the dr. come to your room if you are on site. Just bring like $100 plus for his visit.

dont worry about a little puss comming out of your ear, unless your trying to get a date

Actually, in some ways you are better off that it was a bacterial infection versus a virus. Antibiotics should have her feeling 99.9% better within 24 hours of the first dose, whereas if it was just a cold virus she might feel lousy for a lot longer. It sounds bad, but sometimes I hope that my kids DO have a bacterial infection rather than just a cold.... that way I know that it will be gone within about 5 days, versus a cold that just LIIIIINGEEERS! I'm sure she will be feeling much better. Just keep the Tylenol/Advil handy for the plane ride. Sometimes the increased pressure on the plane can make the ears feel worse.............P

Sorry. I know it's crummy but the antibiotics will help in almost no time.

DS is 7, he has flown 3x already, all 3 times he has flown, it has been with an ear infection. Once they have a dose or 2 of meds in them, they are feeling SO MUCH BETTER.

A little bit of Tylenol or Motrin if she feels REALLY uncomfortable should help too.

Good Luck!
