Yes, at our church. He is 14 and since he was in 4th grade he was an altar server. This year he switched and became a lector...very brave to be up there, he does really well. We're so proud of him!

Here the kids have to perform so many hours of community service before they receive their diplomas. My dgrdd who is 8 has been volunteering for Meals on Wheels for 4 yrs. now. The 2 of us do it together.

My school has a volunteer program with a local elementary/middle school that I have been doing for 4 years. I love working with kids, it makes me feel so amazing.
I will definitely be continuing to do so in college.

Our schools here, even the public schools, have community service requirements for graduation.

The Jesuit high school my oldest son graduated from requires a minimum of 150 hours over 4 years. And the daughter of a friend of ours graduated last year with over 1000 hours!

I think it's a great thing to promote with our teens, and hopefully something they will continue to do in their adult lives.
