My supervisor could do most of my job, but there's things I do that he couldn't--like create print ready marketing collaterol and write press releases.
I could also do most of his, although I wouldn't want to. He's in the field all the time, I prefer to be in my office. Especially because I got a promotion and with it I got to move into the second largest office space yesterday. It was vacated by someone whose position they didn't fill and eliminated after she quit--I think partially to keep her from trying to come back.
We work together as a team, and I love it, because he's only around for a few hours 3-4 times a year--talk about working indiependently! The other people in our HQ office are all HR and accounting. I'm in operations. So I never have anyone looking over my shoulder. My boss could care less HOW I get my work done as long as it's getting done. I quite often DIS during the day while sitting on hold or while waiting for someone to get back to me with additional info before I can finish whatever I'm working on.
